APS is seeking a motivated Engineering Production Worker to join our company.
Full time position Monday to Friday.
Annual Salary: $73,000 - $80,000
Key Responsibilities:
As an Engineering Production Worker, your main responsibility is to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and set up the production process correctly. This involves configuring and adjusting production machinery and equipment to shape metal plate or sheet metal according to the required specifications. You may also operate welding equipment to join metals or apply protective coatings, and modify the structure of metals to suit specific applications.
Other responsibilities include operating computer-controlled machinery and production plants for precision and efficiency, inspecting finished products for imperfections to ensure quality standards are met, and ensuring the work environment is clean and safe by complying with Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) requirements.
You will also be responsible for recording production data as required, assisting in loading raw materials onto production lines and transporting raw materials as needed, and communicating effectively with co-workers to ensure efficient production and meet deadlines. Finally, you will assist in lifting, carrying, and moving heavy loads as required.
Additionally, you should have sharp attention to detail for identifying defects in products, be self-driven and a hard worker, capable of working efficiently with minimal supervision, and be flexible to work shifts, overtime, and weekends as required. You will need to stand for long hours, withstand hot temperatures in the production environment, and lift, carry, and move up to 25kgs.
Skills and Experience:
Must be skilled in working with sheet metal, and have familiarity with production equipment and machinery.
Minimum experience of 5+ years in an engineering production position
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Intermediate MS Office skills and IT skills
Physically fit, driven and passionate
Safety focused and high attention to detail
