Who are we?

The CANDo Programme works for the two acute Trusts in Dorset (Dorset County Hospital and University Hospitals Dorset). We bring together clinicians and managers from both trusts into networks to identify where working together more effectively can reduce inequalities, improve outcomes, improve service resilience or improve productivity. We then support these teams in making those collaborations a reality. We work flexibly across two NHS Trusts, and around ten specialties with a mix of home and office based working.

Who are you?

We need an extra project manager for 12 months who is able to deliver all the core project management skills and on top of that enthuse, persuade and inspire collaboration. You should be tenacious and resilient with a positive and “can-do” approach, able to create and exploit opportunities to grow collaboration between teams more used to competing with each other.

SUMMARY JOB PURPOSE

· To provide effective support to the development and running of clinical networks in the Clinical Acute Networks Dorset Programme (CANDo) and projects generated in those networks.

· To support clinical leads in either of Dorset’s acute trusts, the community Trust or Primary Care in running clinical networks as prioritized by the Provider Collaborative

· To support the development of additional clinical networks

· To use data to inform the development of projects to support the aims of the Clinical Acute Networks Dorset programme

· To lead on the planning delivery, and management of a number of projects across Dorset County and University Hospitals Dorset

Conversant with Trust wide systems to enable data input and retrieval

Environment and Effort

Combination of sitting, standing and walking. Some travel required between sites within Dorset

There is significant computer work involved in the post requiring the post holder to sit at a computer screen for long periods of time.

There may be a requirement for moderate physical activity for short periods when moving records, paper or equipment.

The post holder will use advanced keyboard skills to produce accurate reports and communicate with programme team and wider stakeholders

Mental Effort

The post holder will be required to undertake work requiring a high level of concentration on at least a daily basis. The work pattern will be unpredictable and so there is a likelihood of frequent interruptions.

The post holder is expected to concentrate for long periods at a time transferring and documenting sensitive/confidential data into databases, spreadsheets and word documents. However, the work will be within clear procedures and processes.

The post holder must be able to prioritise workload in order to meet deadlines, both local and those set by Macmillan as part of this project.

Emotional Effort

There will be some occasional direct and indirect exposure to emotional or distressing situations.

Working Conditions
• This is a hybrid role where some homeworking and some office working is expected and enabled. A full time post holder in this role would normally be expected to be in one of the acute sites at least 2 days per week.
• Whilst the post holder could nominate a base from any of the acute hospital sites the post holder will from time to time need to travel to other sites in Dorset.
• There are no unsocial hours associated with this role.

About the Role:

This is a key role within the Convatec Technology & Innovation (T&I) team, a group that spends $100M+ annually to discover, design, build, and launch the products that will enable the company’s future success. As the R&D Portfolio Strategy Manager, you will play a key role in helping to set the strategic direction for the Convatec innovation and new product development portfolio. You will be a trusted partner across the T&I organization to help Convatec understand where to place strategic bets on new products to drive sustainable business results.

This role will report to the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy and will work very closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Set the direction for the Convatec T&I Portfolio

• Work with the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy, CTO, and T&I Leadership Team to help set the investment priorities for the development of new products
• Suport the strategy development and prioritization of the entire Convatec portfolio of R&D, medical/clinical, and regulatory work through the development and use of various tools and KPIs
• Conduct analyses that will help the T&I team understand the value of the Convatec innovation portfolio and make key prioritization decisions
• Evaluate project investment scenarios, identify issues, develop hypotheses and communicate insights and recommendations to key decision-makers
• Support the Convatec Technology & Innovation (T&I) strategy plan
• Coordinate and drive the innovation portfolio planning process with the help of the Director of R&D Portfolio Strategy as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders

Engage the T&I team to advance our strategy

About You:

Skills & Experience:

• Strategic, analytical, and critical thinking abilities

• Competency in developing executive communication materials, e.g., PowerPoint, white papers

Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mail Services includes metering, sorting, and distributing mail and accountable packages per schedule
• Copy Services includes accurately producing copy, print, and scan projects per written instructions
• Reception includes answering incoming telephone calls and routing to the appropriate person, will greet and announce visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Hospitality Services includes coordination and upkeep of client conference rooms, common areas and kitchens. Inspect and ensure that all rooms are clean, stocked with supplies and ready for continual use. Organize and distribute client kitchen supplies. Maintain inventory control and order supplies as needed
• Floor Coordination includes the upkeep of copy rooms and stocking of general supplies, delivery of paper, and basic daily maintenance
• Facilities Services may include hanging pictures, small office moves, cleaning services and communication with key client contacts regarding building/equipment concerns
• Flexibility of a weekly work schedule to cover for absences and vacations. Will include potential schedule changes and work locations
• Barista Role, brewing/serving coffee drinks and espresso drinks.

About the role

We seek a dedicated individual who will be responsible for planning and coordinating multiple assigned facility maintenance outages. This individual will work closely with their assigned facilities to create detailed task driven work plans and to develop these into an overall Primavera P6 Schedule which will be coordinated with other outage planners to ensure consistency across the fleet. They will assign appropriate resources in coordination with the facility and track pre-execution/post-outage progress as well as lessons learned for reporting purposes. This individual must be able to communicate effectively with the facility and the outage project managers to support the progress of the planning effort and execution.
 

What You'll Do:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES- Report to the Regional Maintenance Manager

• Coordinate the regional master outage schedule with consideration of client needs, Power Purchase Agreements, Service Agreements, client fiscal years and Turbine Generator outages.
• Collaborate with assigned facility Maintenance Planners on outage schedules, while ensuring no regional overlaps occur.
• Work directly with procurement, regional resources, and management to develop and continuously improve the Outage Readiness Index (ORI) process
• Maintain open communications with Operations concerning all maintenance-related topics, including to all department heads and staff.
• Interface with Procurement and facilities to secure and maintain competent and competitive vendors.
• Develop and monitor outage scopes of work with field-based personnel based on the LTMP process.
• Contribute to the completion of Post Outage Summaries with improvement actions forward.
• Identify any changes in cost and schedule forecast as well as balance resources for producing or delivering project deliverables.
• Assist in coordinating and facilitating the Long-Term Maintenance Plan review and revision as part of the annual budgeting process.
• Complete Project Progress, Status reports and other required reports.
• Mentor and promote development of the NJ Planners and Maintenance Managers

What You'll Bring:

REQUIREMENTS (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience):

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in industrial boiler/pressure part construction, maintenance, and repairs.
• A high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read and understand instructions, training, safety, health-related materials, and work rules.
• Proficient oral and written communications skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills both to represent the company to external parties as well as work with many and diverse interested parties within the company.
• Advanced understanding of EfW plant equipment, operations, and hazards including the effects of changing plant conditions.
• Working knowledge of computerized Maintenance Management systems and how they interact across all aspects of Covanta business.  Proficiency in Covanta’s current system is a plus.
• Ability to learn Covanta financials and how they are used to plan, budget, and forecast Maintenance spend, both Expense and CapEx.
• Prior supervisory or lead responsibility experience regarding job set up, labor management and progressing work to owner/ client.
• Strong computer skills, primarily with Microsoft Office products. Specific experience using MS Projects, Primavera or similar planning program.
• Ability to read and understand design drawings/ shop fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge/ experience of Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• The ability to travel approximately 20-30% is a requirement of this role
• Ability to participate in Covanta training and obtain certifications to allow for site visits allowing free unattended access to all parts of facilities and be qualified to enter the boiler train during an outage.
• Physical condition to pass cardiopulmonary testing for full face respirator use.
• Ability to climb scaffolding, access ways in boilers and frequently use stairs and ladders.

Position Responsibilities:

• Valid OSHA 10-hr and/or OSHA 30-hr, 40-hr HAZWOPER, with current 8-hr refresher

Position Summary: 
This Director level role will lead process optimization and change management efforts across Customer Onboarding.  The individual will partner with the Vice President of Customer Onboarding, and the Executive Director leadership team to identify and execute optimization efforts, including process, organizational design and technology initiatives.  They will work with Operations leaders to establish best-in-class processes and innovate the overall Onboarding experience for athena customers.  The Director of Process Optimization will build and lead a team of process optimization experts that can partner across Customer Onboarding to mine opportunities and drive improvements proactively. This role will work with process owners, subject matter experts and leadership to continuously improve quality standards and productivity by utilizing process improvement methodologies (i.e. Lean and Six Sigma) to measure, improve and ensure the robustness and scalability of processes.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): 

60% Process Optimization and Change Management Execution

• Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction by partnering with stakeholders to establish best-in-class policies and processes, identify opportunities to enhance the end-to-end customer onboarding value steam and improve the customer experience

• Provide leadership of cross-organizational transformation efforts

• Build project management capability to run programs within Customer Onboarding as well as in partnership with other Operations functions

• Work with cross functional partners to identify technology, tools and build business cases to support deployment of solutions and work simplification

• Work with the VP Customer Onboarding to manage and prioritize a portfolio of opportunities within Customer Onboarding that maximize impact and partner with IT, Operations and other cross-functional partners to deliver on the portfolio of initiatives and ensure value is tracked and captured

20% Support Customer Onboarding Operations and Partnership Collaborations

• Provide oversight and management of a portfolio of programs, projects and process improvement efforts, providing leadership and relationship management between Onboarding and other cross-organizational key stakeholders to drive optimization, efficiency and scalability

• Proactively develop and manage partnerships with Onboarding leadership, subject matter experts and key athena stakeholders to ensure consistent processes, and to provide guidance regarding the execution of changes as well as the controls necessary to sustain change 

• Analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes. Develops sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable transformation efforts. 

• Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmarks

• Work with leadership and finance to track spend across the Customer Onboarding operations and projects; identify and escalate any risks as needed

• Work with Human Resources to track organizational changes and trends across the Customer Onboarding team

• Provide regular status reporting on Customer Onboarding project portfolio, and identify any potential risks in delivery 

• Work with the Vice President of Customer Onboarding to support critical updates on the organization in various internal forums e.g., ELT updates.

20% Development, Management and Continuous Improvement

• Defines roles and responsibilities for Process Optimization team members (direct reports)

• Strengthen continuous improvement competencies by leading the design of training curricula, facilitating trainings and workshops, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to project teams

• Create and maintain a collaborative working relationship with leaders and provide expert guidance in the understanding and deployment of continuous improvement principles and tools

• Interpret current policies and procedures and ensure that all members of the Customer Onboarding team are performing within the parameters of those policies and procedures

• Ensure the development of documentation on standard operating procedures

Education & Experience Required 

• Bachelor of Arts or Science degree

• 10+ years’ experience in process improvement work utilizing continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Change management), tools, and techniques

• Project /Program Mgt. certification and/or experience, formal training or certification in process excellence tools and methodologies e.g., Six Sigma is an asset

• Experience in using data and analytics to identify opportunities and drive process automation improvements

• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma transformation philosophies, principles, tools, and techniques

• Ability to build interdependent partnerships, acting as the mediator between organizations while optimizing the value proposition 

• Analytical skills and experience leading risk-based projects

Job Overview This role is a key part of supporting strategic and transformation programmes across the Dorset Integrated Care System (ICS). Delivering analysis and assurance the post holder will ensure business cases, investment plans and improvement opportunities are robust and able to deliver our ambitious change plans. This is a new position with the opportunity for the postholder to shape and develop the role over time in conjunction with senior management. Job Purpose The Finance Analyst Strategy is responsible for providing technical expertise and analytical skills to lead development of robust financial models in support of planning and service change. They will also act as the first point of contact with the Directorate for supporting the development of business cases, including ICS wide service change, capital programmes and funding applications. The post holder will work with data from a variety of sources, including financial information from partner organisations and non-financial data such as workforce, performance and activity across the system. They will utilise this data in novel and innovative ways to produce useful and insightful management information that supports financial planning. This role will be a key point of contact across the system for colleagues developing business cases, with investments typically ranging from £1m - £20m. The role will provide advice, financial analysis and independent assurance into these business cases to support evaluation and realisation of benefits, delivering service changes that improve health and wellbeing for the population of Dorset. As the ICS develops this role will support the planning and prioritisation of the capital allocation, ensuring the funding available is utilised to deliver the best outcomes and that organsational and system capital plans are aligned to key strategies such as digital and estates, in turn supporting the operational and clinical strategies that underpin the ICS Joint Forward Plan and long term ambitions.
