The Senior Business Development Manager will contribute to increasing and diversifying the project's income streams and will support the academic team in grant capture activities. The Senior Business Development Manager will provide both strategic and operational support to the lead investigators and the academic team.

This highly varied role will manage, maintain, and enhance our commercial, engagement and outreach profile regionally, nationally, and internationally, ensuring that the initiative is promoted and represented. The postholder will work closely with key stakeholders, while increasing and securing the financial contributions and income streams through existing and new partnerships. In addition, the postholder will work with the team to ensure the timely submission of high-quality research grant proposal and organise large bids and funding consortia.

The Senior Business Development Manager should be target driven, confident and have a good understanding and demonstrable evidence of past commercial activity and ways to diversify income streams, with academia, industry partners and government stakeholders.

This role will be part of the professional services team at the Law School, reporting directly to the Project Lead.

The Computing and Information Services (CIS) has an annual operational budget in excess of £12m, multi-million pound programmes of change within year, and approximately 185 staff. - Submarine Cable procurement and Submarine Cable route design, including desktop feasibility study, cable burial risk assessment, on bottom stability analysis and UXO risk assessment.

- Preparing pre-construction information and scopes for all aspects of the works in line with SSEN's specification and industry best standard.

- Managing technical aspects of contractors, from delivering survey data, to report generation, through to cable installation.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Experience of submarine power cable landfall assessments, route engineering, design analysis and specifying methods of cable installation, burial and protection, based on marine survey data and experience of route engineering design with GIS and drawing packages.

- Knowledge of submarine power cable installation, both in deep and shallow waters, and aspects that may affect the cable integrity during installation and operation.

The Role and the Department

Working closely with the pro:NE Project Manager, the postholder will provide a high level of administrative support to the delivery and implementation of key EDI policies and initiatives including the pro:NE Project, as well as other strands of EDI work.

Pro:NE is a four-year, Office for Students funded regional project to increase the recruitment, retention, development and attainment of PGR students from minority ethnic groups. Durham is partnering with Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside Universities to deliver this innovative project.

Our client, an Oil and gas exploration services company are looking for a Project Coordinator/ Document Controller to join their business on a permanent basis in Portlethen.
Your new role
Your new role will be directly reporting to the project manager and supporting with administrative and coordination activities as well as document control for the company. Key duties of your new role will be to prepare project related documents such as work packs, certifications and equipment paperwork. Maintaining and updating their SharePoint-based document control system, organising and updating documentation including policies, records, manuals and archiving these if necessary. Supporting and collaborating with HSEQ to align documents for audits, compliance reviews and ensure all documents are updated and readily accessible.
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience in administration and in a project-focused role or department is desirable. Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages is required, with previous exposure to SharePoint advantageous. Experience in Document Control is also required for this role. Attention to detail, great organisation and communication skills, report writing and proofreading and administrative proficiency are all essential to be successful in this role.

The Assistant Project Worker will support the provision of relationship-based support delivered to young people and families in the community and promote positive outcomes in line with the values and principles of includem.

Working alongside the Project Worker to deliver aspects of the support plan that has been developed with the young person. They will understand and respond to individualised needs identified in the support plan to improve outcomes in line with GIRFEC principles and includem’s model of support.

An Assistant Project Worker will demonstrate leadership and ownership over effective service delivery to young people by managing outcomes for young people through use of line managers, colleagues and organisational tools, processes, policies, and procedures.

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Project Worker include, but are not limited to:

Service Delivery
• To build relationships and deliver outcome-based support to young people and families, involving all key stakeholders.
• To be available for young people and families at critical times.
• To explore values and attitudes with young people in a supportive manner, to affirm and validate their feelings and ideas, and nurture and confirm their learning.
• Actively contribute to case progression to help young people and families recognise progress.
• Ability to assess and respond appropriately to situations where young people/families may be at risk of harm.
• To actively participate in the delivery of the includem Helpline evening service so support is available for young people and families 24/7
• To respond to young people and families using the Helpline and source support for them from allocated teams and workers. To offer support and generate solutions where required, with risk enablement being at the heart of professional judgement and decision making.

• To understand the different coping mechanisms that young people and their families use to deal with stress and high emotions, and to respond appropriately.
• To demonstrate professional resilience when providing support with sensitive or challenging issues
• To use a strengths-based approach to empower individuals facing adversity to find solutions and make positive changes, ensuring resources are in place to sustain these changes.
• To establish mutually trusting, open and non-judgemental relationship with young people and their families
• To participate in collaborative team work to provide a ‘scaffolding of support’ around individual young people and families.

• To take direction from the lead worker and participate in deployment to ensure time is used effectively to meet the needs of young people and families so the service is available 24/7, 365 days per year.

• To ensure support is delivered in line with includem’s Policies Procedures, SSSC Codes of Practice & National Guidelines.
