This is an exciting opportunity for a Legal Disrepair Support Officer to work within the Asset management legal disrepair team.
The role requires someone with relevant experience and who is qualified or working towards a relevant qualification and who has the business acumen to motivate other members within the internal legal disrepair team and more widely within the group to provide support to other colleagues within the business.
The Legal Disrepair Business Support Officer will undertake multi complex legal administrative & operational duties, research & development and be able to use data analytical tools. In addition to providing support for the case handlers.
Importantly this role requires someone with the natural flair & ability to influence the decision-making process and who can support the legal disrepair team.
What will my working week look like?
You will be a regional worker, living within the Northwest, within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Warrington.
You will attend regular team meetings and training courses and both our regional head offices and other regional offices as and when required.
What will I be responsible for doing?
First and foremost, you will administratively case manage and triage all daily email communications for the team in a timely manner and ensure that the case handlers are provided with communication contacts in a swift and timely manner.
You will set up all new claims onto the YHG data base systems, and ensure full responses and disclosures are provided for all new claims within the requisite legislative timescales.
You will allocate disrepair claims, and directly instruct internal YHL colleagues, external surveyors, solicitors, barristers, agencies and organisations as necessary to minimise potential risk & financial loss to the organisation through the effective case management and response to legal disrepair claims
You will have knowledge and proven experience of contract law and litigation enforcement experience and be someone with the ability to work alone but someone who also works well within a team environment.

Case / litigation administrative experience, whether as a claimant or defendant litigator with experience of all general areas of litigation, and in particular Contract law, Housing law, Possession actions.
You will have previous experience and be able to demonstrate key leadership administrative skills whilst dealing with critical developing situations.
You will currently hold a business degree and / or be training towards an equivalent CILEX administrative qualification.
Ideally you will be a well-motivated collaborative team player with the ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
You will have the personal and professional drive and desire to excel in this area of litigation and be able to provide support to other members of the team as and when required
You will have relevant experience of working with claimants whether within legal private practice, local government agencies or within the Social Housing Sector
This role is ideally suited to someone with the skill set, confidence and ability needed to make on the spot critical judgments and someone who can naturally support others in order to achieve successful outcomes.
This role also offers genuine progression opportunities and support to excel both in terms of administration and experience and more widely within the general area of defendant litigation.
