What you will do

As a Project Engineer, you will create project plans and proposals that will support and improve our business. You’ll oversee all stages of projects that are assigned to you, from initial concept, through execution to final acceptance, ensuring all work meets the relevant standards and guidelines from a design, safety and environmental standpoint. You will support by drafting technical specifications and requests for quotations from OEMs and contractor partners.



Your role involves the overseeing of project engineering activities to ensure the area you are responsible for is completed on time and to budget, safely and to the designed standard. Problem-solving and liaising with internal and external stakeholders is critical to your success.





What you will need

The Project Engineer will hold a strong background within the Heavy Industry sector. A degree in Engineering and Chartered Engineer status is desirable but not essential. A solid understanding of project management techniques, risk assessment, and safety study methods is ideal, however, individuals who are successful will be expected to develop themselves and training will be provided. Excellent communication skills are crucial, as you will represent the business externally and act as a company ambassador.



A high level of engineering competency in Electrical disciplines is expected. You should also have excellent time management, problem solving and analytical abilities.

We are currently seeking an interim Process Project Engineer, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral - easily accessible by train and car. This is a full-time temporary role to run for 18 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying between £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

This role would require you to lead the implementation of engineering projects within the Sourcing Units, including design, installation and commissioning of process plant and equipment.

Key Accountabilities

• The preparation of equipment schedules, cost schedules and project documentation.
• The installation, testing and commissioning of plant equipment related to engineering projects.
• Conduct technical surveys and feasibility studies to enable project decisions to be made.
• Create scope documents to ensure equipment design and installation is completed to the correct standards.
• Work with Process designer to ensure plant and process is designed correctly.
• Manage contractors completing the work by reviewing risk assessment and method statements, signing permits for work to start, completing audits during the works and signing off on completion.
• Manage any work regarding the civil aspects of plant installation such as ground works for a new vessel installation.
• Provide stakeholder updates for projects.

Key Skills Required

• Hygienic plant and process design.
• Managed the design and installation of plant equipment (could include tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, pipework, valve and manifolds, CiP systems)
• Managing contractors safely through installation.
• Ability to understand deeply process P&ID's and plant flow layouts.
• Experience of Microsoft Office required (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
• Chemical engineering background or relevant experience in process projects.
• Project management qualification or relevant experience.

The Director of Planning and Partnerships is responsible for leading the Health Boards complex planning function, including the development of strategic plans to meet the UHBs objectives and the continuing transformation of services delivered in a large and complex organisation and where effective collaboration with partners is essential to the delivery of the UHBs vision. As a member of the Board, the Director will hold corporate responsibility jointly with other Board members for the strategic direction, corporate policymaking and development and delivery of UHB objectives and plans, including plans to achieve financial and service sustainability The Director will play a key role in leading the development and implementation of a series of aligned programmes and plans that will realise the Health Boards vision and strategic objectives in a timely way in order to achieve improved health and healthcare for the populations served. The Director will provide strategic planning advice to the Board and will also provide expert advice in key areas such as emergency preparedness, partnership and collaborative planning and delivery and service and capital planning.
