As the Principal Planning Officer, you will handle major and complex planning applications, support the Development Manager in implementing service improvements, supervise the planning enforcement service, and manage the Planning Enforcement Officer and Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage Major and Complex Applications: Carry a caseload of significant planning applications.
• Service Improvement: Support the Development Manager in delivering service enhancements.
• Enforcement Supervision: Oversee the planning enforcement service and manage the Enforcement Team.
• Leadership: Provide guidance and management to the Planning Enforcement Officer and Assistant.

About You
To excel in this role, you will need:
• Experience: Handling a wide range of complex and major planning applications, including planning enforcement and leading projects.
• Qualifications: A Diploma or Degree in Town Planning (or equivalent) and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, a proactive approach to delivering quality outcomes, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer Focus: A commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
• Leadership: Experience in managing teams or a desire to take the first step into management.
