Finance Business Partner – Secure Logistics, Justice & Immigration Home-based with 50% of time spent in Warrington Full Time, Permanent £70,000
- £85,000 (dependent on experience)
Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to provide dedicated, commercial and financial decision support aligned to our strategic objectives and customer priorities, to win and deliver good business and improve shareholder value.
Your role will focus on a recently awarded 6-year contract delivering high profile technology led services within our Secure Logistics business where you will challenge assumptions, influence decisions and make recommendations to deliver sustainable growth.
As part of this you’ll:
- Participate in the future Justice & Immigration strategy including growth from a financial and commercial perspective
- Act as a fully supportive business partner to the Contract Director and the Contract Senior Leadership team
- Deliver on time and accurately the financial requirements and any additional support required for the transitions of new contract wins and extensions
- Support with the financial strategy for changes in operational delivery
- Participate in delivering Team and business unit Operational Excellence OKRs
- Contribute to the achievement of business unit DSO targets
- Ensure that we have appropriate accounting treatment and consistent application for the contract’s financial reporting
- Improve the commentary and accuracy of financial forecasts, and increase transparency and articulation of a range of outcomes and clarity on risks and opportunities
- Proactively support Serco’s Finance for the Future (F4F) transformation programme
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Must hold an appropriate professional qualification for the role (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience
- Track record of collaborating with business leaders in a complex business environment
- Experience of adding value in a commercially orientated bidding and contracting environment
- Knowledge and understanding of the business within their scope of responsibility
- Evidence of ability to influence, negotiate, listen to and resolve conflicts with key decision makers
- Ability to highlight problems, offer innovative and practical solutions, and drive through their execution
- Strong commercial acumen, as well as a strong understanding of the relationships between key financial and non-financial business value drivers
- Translate business requirements into open, honest and transparent insight to solve business challenges
- Ability to interpret and deal with incomplete data; and the capability to exercise judgement where there is ambiguity
- Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the UK
