This is an exciting time to join the Guildford and Waverley Frailty Academy Programme We are looking to recruit a project manager to be responsible for delivery of key specific projects as part of a wider frailty workforce development, training and education programme. This post is offered as a twelve month fixed term contract The Guildford and Waverley Frailty Academy was set up in 2021 by consultant geriatricians who recognised the need for everyone working with and/or caring for older people (whether paid or voluntary) to be trained in identifying frailty and helping people who have frailty to age well. We know that people living in Surrey can expect to enjoy a long life expectancy the average life expectancy is nearly 82 years for men and 85 years for women. In Guildford and Waverley there are more than 30,000 residents over the age of 65 years so it is more important than ever that we support people to age well by identifying frailty and managing frailty effectively. The Academy has now secured funding from the United Surrey Talent Fund to deliver an expanded programme of work across the Guildford and Waverley Alliance, including workforce development projects as well as training and education activities. We are seeking a very experienced individual to be case officer for one of the Borough Strategic sites allocated for approximately 1,800 homes, as well as retail and commercial floorspace. The applicant has indicated that they intend to submit this application in late 2024.

Role: SEND Project Worker for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities (internally referred to as Building Futures Project Worker)

Company: halow project (head office based in Guildford)

Location: Our sessions are based at community venues across Surrey, with this role being primarily based in Guildford with some occasional working in Woking.

Hours: Full time 40  hours per week, Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm with occasional weekends and evenings for specific events.

Salary: £25,850

Annual Leave: 33 days, inclusive of bank holidays.

Training: Fully paid training is given and further development opportunities are available.

We are looking for someone to support learners in an project worker capacity on our fantastic community based learning programme, Building Futures, around the local Guildford and Woking areas.

You will be responsible for:
-Supporting the delivery of sessions to groups of between 5-10 young adults (please see the timetable below for an example of the types of sessions)
-Providing a high level of service and support to our participants, colleagues and stakeholders
-Safeguarding and ensuring a safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led service – compliant with regulations and legislation.

Requirements:
-Excellent communication skills
-Enthusiastic and caring
-Confident in supporting and delivering outstanding person-centred sessions to groups
-Due to the physical nature of the programme and community working, a good level of fitness and stamina is required.
-You will ideally be proactive and keen for continuous improvement in yourself and the adults you are supporting, contributing to the development of the programme and working closely with the team.
-Aged 18 and above.
-Right to work in the UK
-Willing to provide suitable reference and undertake a DBS Check. The initial cost of the DBS application will be paid for by halow.
