Pay Rate: £36.00 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 3 months
City: Guildford, Surrey

We are seeking a very experienced individual to be case officer for one of the Borough Strategic sites allocated for approximately 1,800 homes, as well as retail and commercial floorspace. The applicant has indicated that they intend to submit this application in late 2024.
The post would suit either someone who has a strong track record of dealing with major development schemes or has proven experience in delivering large scale development. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of this project working closely with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they also have appropriate experience of dealing with Public Inquiries, negotiation on large scale development and the experience and ability to shape a scheme to ensure that quality development, together with supporting infrastructure, is delivered on this important site. Given the importance of this site to the borough the role will report to the Assistant Director.
Key Responsibilities:
Answering email and telephone enquiries about your applications
Arranging and attending meetings on your applications with the developer team and consultees.
Preparing officer reports including conditions and heads of terms for S106 agreements
To possibly present applications to planning committee and answer questions from members.
Point of contact for legal, admin officers, consultees, developers and other specialists.
Adhering to data protection and GDPR standards.
Manage application paperwork, plans and reports and ensure electronic records are kept updated and well organised.
Ensuring deadlines are met and decisions are issued within the agreed timeframes.
To carry out any additional duties or functions, as may be requested by management.
Qualifications:
MRTPI qualification.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role, or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
At least 3 years working on complex and larger applications in a LPA environment.
Significant experience working on large scale residential development preferably in development management.
Strong team working skills.
Experience of Public Inquiries.
Excellent project management and organisation skills.
High level communication and presentation skills including clear, concise reporting and correspondence particularly concerning complex or controversial issues.
The ability to communicate with people of different social, economic and professional backgrounds.
Attendance at evening and other out of hour’s meetings and events when required.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite, Mosaic).
Full UK driving licence required for this role
