• Lead both military and civilian employees in the development and execution of USARSOUTH strategy, campaign plans, policy, and contingency plans (CONPLANS).
• Conduct security cooperation and respond to contingencies with partner nation armies in order to strengthen regional security and counter trans-regional/transnational threat networks (T3N) in defense of the homeland.
• Provide command, control, and support for Army and land operations to deter, prevent, and defeat threats and aggression against the United States, its territories, and interests.
• Serve as a Senior Plans Specialist advising on all aspects of strategy, campaign planning, policy, and CONPLANS.

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Meets with managers and executives within the Service to define the overall goals and objectives of the project.
• Prepares action plans and schedules for various phases of project accomplishment, both short and long-range; ensures that plans are consistent with Service goals, schedules, and policies.
• Prepares recommendation for resource requirements to accomplish the project; negotiates with managers of various components of the Service to obtain needed resources and support.
• Establishes a system to review, control, and report on project status.
• Plans, coordinates, and establishes operating methods and procedures for accomplishment of project mission; as needed, directs the development and accomplishment of employee training relating to the project.

• Develop policy and procedures to support organization acquisition efforts and/or contract requirements.
• Ensure compliance with terms and conditions by evaluating contractor performance during the contract lifecycle.
• Modify contracts by using market research.
• Advise contracting personnel on the acquisition/procurement process.
