This is an exciting time to join the Guildford and Waverley Frailty Academy Programme We are looking to recruit a project manager to be responsible for delivery of key specific projects as part of a wider frailty workforce development, training and education programme. This post is offered as a twelve month fixed term contract The Guildford and Waverley Frailty Academy was set up in 2021 by consultant geriatricians who recognised the need for everyone working with and/or caring for older people (whether paid or voluntary) to be trained in identifying frailty and helping people who have frailty to age well. We know that people living in Surrey can expect to enjoy a long life expectancy the average life expectancy is nearly 82 years for men and 85 years for women. In Guildford and Waverley there are more than 30,000 residents over the age of 65 years so it is more important than ever that we support people to age well by identifying frailty and managing frailty effectively. The Frailty Academy has developed a range of successful training opportunities aligned to the NHS Frailty Core Capabilities Framework. The Academy has now secured funding from the United Surrey Talent Fund to deliver an expanded programme of work across the Guildford and Waverley Alliance, including workforce development projects as well as training and education activities. The post holder will manage the planning, development, implementation and assurance of specific projects as part of this wider programme for frailty across the Guildford and Waverley Alliance. They will support the Chair of the Academy and the Frailty Academy Programme Manager in developing and delivering Tiers 1-3 of training aligned to the Frailty Core Capabilities Framework published through Health Education England. This is viewed as a key enabler to help develop the system strategy and application of the Ageing Well programme and Integrated Neighbourhood Teams as described within the Long Term Plan The Frailty Academy Project Manager will be part of a dynamic team working alongside Educational Fellows in several sectors including Adult Social Care, the Voluntary Sector and Allied Health Professionals. Main duties of the job Project planning and delivery relating to frailty education and training with links to workforce development. Effective management of key Frailty Academy projects, including project planning, risk, reporting and assurance arrangements. Working with the Academy Programme Manager and Chair of the Academy to design, deliver and manage the governance structures and PMO processes underpinning delivery of the projects within the overall programme. Your new role

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Central Carbon team within Environmental Sustainability Division in Safety, Engineering and Standards (SES). The Project Manager role is part of the Central Carbon Team, which is responsible for bringing together the activities National Highways is already taking to reduce and mitigate our carbon emissions, and the further future activities being identified to help meet the Government’s commitment to meet net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The Central Carbon Team are also responsible for advising and updating National Highways Executive and Board on the progress of the Net Zero Plan.

The Central Carbon Project Manager will be responsible for delivering and maintaining a programme plan, which is adaptable and flexible as the work evolves. The Project Manager will also be responsible for using that programme plan to progress, monitor and control delivery to ensure we deliver the Net Zero Plan and refine it over Road Period 2 and beyond.

What you’ll be leading on

Leading the Net Zero Carbon work activities using appropriate project management skills and tools. Accurate reporting of progress through reports, dashboards and stage reviews as appropriate.

Manage project performance and outcomes and challenge project delivery against milestones, having delegated responsibility for projects so that the project is delivered to time, cost and quality objectives.
Lead on the preparation, review and quality assurance of Net Zero documentation, presentations and papers to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
Plan and prioritise assigned work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilisation of resources.
Identification and evaluation of risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the Net Zero Plan, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary, develop, agree and implement solutions to overcome these.

To be successful

A certification/qualification in project management (e.g. Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE Practitioner, Certified Project Management Practitioner, CPMP) and/or a track record of successful roles in this field or similar.
Ability to work collaboratively, with a range of colleagues, subject matter experts and business partners both in the wider organisation and externally across multiple stakeholders and delivery partners.
Good interpersonal, oral communication and presentation skills to build and sustain effective communications with both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
Experience of working successfully in a programme or project management environment, with proven application of project management approaches to achieve project/programme delivery
Strong organisational management, proactive approach and ability to work on own initiative and prioritise to manage and deliver its own projects and meet tight deadlines.
