Job Purpose:
The IS Project Manager is responsible for the successful implementation of IS projects assigned by the manager of the ICT projects team, ensuring projects meet agreed specifications, timelines, and budgets. This role involves identifying the tasks necessary to complete a project, calculating the required resources and budget, and collaborating with system owners and NWROCU teams to ensure smooth execution.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and agree on project plans, including resources, timelines, and budgets with system owners and key stakeholders.
• Manage and coordinate the implementation of IT systems across large and complex organisations.
• Monitor and manage project progress to ensure successful completion within defined timelines and costs.
• Work with NWROCU users to understand requirements and propose viable IT solutions.
• Motivate and coordinate internal project teams and external suppliers, ensuring efficient collaboration.
• Negotiate changes with users and manage supplier relationships to meet project specifications and cost targets.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal training course in the management of ICT projects.

• Familiarity with one or more project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) and experience using them in multiple projects.
• Broad knowledge of different IT systems to assess proposed solutions and understand their impact.

successful delivery. The PjM will work alongside the customers PjM in accordance with the NEC4 Engineering & Construction Contract
and is responsible for indirectly managing cross-functional colleagues from across the business to ensure the successful delivery
of the project, on-time, on-schedule and on-quality. This will require effective influencing skills to engage the right people, in
the right way, at the right time. The PjM will be delivering products and solutions in a highly regulated environment and is
expected to critically drive projects over the line in a consistent manner in accordance with the Programme & Project Management
governance processes ensuring both the customer’s needs and Unipart Rail’s targets for sales, profit and growth are met.
Principally focused in the UK Rail markets, this position will require both local and international travel, sometimes at short
notice, as and when required.

The post holder will be making daily decisions on the project parameters, processes and project execution to ensure project
successful delivery. This role will be accountable for the following activities:

* Oversee the introduction and implementation of infrastructure products and solutions to Unipart Rail key customers and includes
the development/roll-out of new and/or existing products/solutions with particular focus on schedule adherence, cost adherence,
quality delivery, tracking and reporting, risks & issue management, cost management and change management in accordance with
best practice Project Management.

The role will require independent decision making within the parameters of the project plan as directed by the site General
Manager and the Head of Programme and Project Management. Use of the Unipart Way and the Programme and Project Management
Governance processes is expected. As a key role within the business, the role will require interface with senior colleagues up to
Director level to manage the project delivery. You will be required to act with little supervision, however will be supported
through your direct line manager and peers as required.

Spread Of Skills & Analysis Required

The nature of the role is varied and complex with a requirement for professional project management expertise, customer and market
knowledge, alongside subject matter/ technical appreciation of product development. It requires a level of operational, commercial
and financial acumen to assess project performance. The ability to nurture and develop relationships will be key to
success. Management of distributed product development and OEM product development experience would be useful. Strong
communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Pressure & Working Environment

The role requires considerable concentration, dealing with complex project plans, costs and resources whilst dealing with a
multitude of stakeholders and multiple competing priorities at any one time. A level of resilience will be required in developing
relationships with internal and external stakeholders, particularly during challenging periods. A consistently high level of
quality of work is required to ensure right first-time approach and to maximise business profitability. The role is UK based with
a requirement to travel to suit the needs of specific projects, this may involve international travel.

Qualifications & Education

Degree qualified in either; Project Management, Engineering, or similar

Formal professional Project Management qualification is required (PMI, APM)

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Business Services Team Leader to join our Traffic Orders team in the Operations Orders Team. This role focuses on the preparation and promotion of Statutory Orders, Notices and Agreements, delivered under the appropriate legislative framework, in order to safely maintain and improve traffic flows on the Strategic Road Network, and to deliver improvements that support economic growth and local communities. The role will also provide resilience to our Business Services Team.

The role can be based at either our Manchester or Birchwood office. However, if based at Birchwood, the role will require travel to our Manchester office.

What you’ll lead on

Manage the delivery of timely and accurate Traffic Regulation Orders to support effective, safe and efficient delivery of the Routine and Scheme Programmes, to time, quality, and cost.
Deal effectively with objections received in relation to Statutory Orders, and organise and attend Public Local Inquiries, where necessary.
Deliver timely and accurate financial reconciliation ensuring that National Highways is receiving good value for money from its Statutory Advertising provider.
Managing the preparation of Third-Party Agreements, Orders and Notices under the Highways Act 1980 and Acquisition of Land Act 1981 ensuring that they are delivered on time and in line with defined procedures and standards.
Enable and support effective information management including the maintenance of documents and records in accordance with National Highways Policies and Procedures and legal requirements.
Lead, motivate and develop team in providing proactive and flexible support to time and quality; build capability to meet developing business needs and improve resilience.
Manage the effective application of consistent working practices and procedures, ensuring deployment of resources according to priorities, adapting work methods to organisational changes to continually improve delivery and performance to provide a high quality, accurate and timely service to meet business and customer needs.

To be successful

Exhibit good attention to detail and ability to analyse a variety of data.
Experience in using relevant MS Office software and other related tools to enable production and maintenance of a range of complex documents and spreadsheets.
