What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we'd love you to have:

- A proven track record of leading and safely delivering projects or programmes of work to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Energy, or other regulated industry / the wider utilities sector.

- An engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience is required.

- Thorough engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.

- Commercially astute, with sound knowledge and experience of negotiating, administering, and managing NEC Contracts, a recognised NEC qualification/registration would be a bonus.

What do I need?

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team working to deliver the Eastern Green Link HVDC scheme. The project, connecting Scotland and England to support the transfer of renewable electricity to key UK centres of demand, forms one of the largest which SSEN Transmission are involved with over the next decade, comprising High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Convertor Stations, subsea cable installation and AC connections at either end of the system.

We are recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join the Converter Stations work package, focussed on the delivery of infrastructure at both ends of the subsea link at Peterhead and Lincolnshire. SSEN Transmission Offshore Delivery Team are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Delivery Manager to deliver various Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) projects before 2030 regulatory deadlines to directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net-Zero.

The projects are primarily subsea HVDC (High-Voltage Direct Current) links and due to the scale, complex nature, and accelerated requirements, we are implementing an innovative disaggregated delivery strategy. As the scale of our portfolio of projects is already large and is likely to grow in the coming years, this means there will likely be opportunities for career progression within the business. Due to the nature of the project packages, experience of civil engineering activities associated with underground cable installation is particularly desirable.

The key duties and responsibilities of this role will be:
