To promote, develop, co-ordinate and advise on Council processes for risk management, business continuity and employee personal security. To be a trusted and future focused advisor, ensuring risk management, business continuity and personal security processes are in line with best practice and applied consistently across the Council and its companies.
We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Risk, Business Continuity and Security Advisor, with relevant experience, ideally in the public sector. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and progressive team who provide valued advice and guidance, supporting innovation and the delivery of excellent services in an ever-changing modern world, whilst supporting the Council to remain safe, well-managed and ethical.
You will play a key role in delivering significant changes in how risk, business continuity and security is managed across the Council, ensuring appropriate focus and consideration in everything we do. Bringing experience from previous relevant roles, you will be key to the ensuring Council has:
- A risk management framework that effectively identifies, manages and mitigates strategic and operational risk
- Robust business continuity plans that support an effective response to potential threats to service delivery.
- Security policies and procedures that are robust and help mitigate security risks to staff
The team is also looking at the ways it can transform the way that it works, maximising the use of digital systems and tools, and the opportunities that automation and AI can and will bring. We would welcome applicants who also have a passion for digital, who think innovatively and can encourage others across a team and organisation to be innovative, too.
The successful candidate will have the confidence and ability to work at all levels of the organisation to assess current performance and develop new, improved business processes for the Council, building strong, effective networks and ensuring changes are embedded into ways of working to deliver long-lasting improvement. Most of all, the successful candidate will have a passion for ensuring excellent public services and be motivated to deliver!
