Job Responsibilities

• Develop and review scope for high-level requirements for projects and review them with the stakeholders to ensure accurate requirements are established prior to project initiation.
• Analyze proposed solutions, make recommendations and approve solutions to ensure projects meet current needs and provide flexibility for future business needs.
• Work with business customers, IT and other areas of the company to determine the staffing needs and create focused project teams that work together to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Develop, publish and monitor the project schedule to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner, within budget and with high quality.
• Actively manage all project risks to ensure they are quickly identified, communicated and mitigated.
• Provide accurate and up-to-date project status reporting to all project stakeholders and necessary management.
• Manage all project resource tasks and timesheets to ensure that the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Lead project team members and vendors in the execution of assigned tasks.
• Ensure that all deliverables and documentation are created, meet standards and are properly maintained according to established processes.
• Ensure that operational support plans and disaster recovery plans for critical applications are in place and established prior to project closure.
• Provide feedback to the project governance team on ways to improve the system development life cycle and support the implementation of those improvements.

Address:

Investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services and inform business decisions. Defines business requirements to inform technology build and operations by sourcing and analyzing relevant data, reviewing and documenting business processes and collaborating with business stakeholders. Sources business and market data to evaluate the effect of projects on business results. Also assesses the efficiency and the performance of technology (software, hardware and the wider IT system) to deliver expected business results. Identifies and analyzes malfunctions, system workflow, and troubleshoots issues raised by business.

• Elicits requirements and analyzes feasibility to ensure solutions/initiatives achieve the expected business outcomes.

• Supports various project teams across the project lifecycle to ensure development is aligned with the business requirements.

• Develops informative, coherent, and usable project documents (project artifacts) for multiple stakeholders covering functional and non-functional business requirements.

• Applies depth of domain & functional expertise for the assigned portfolio to drive the expected business value.

• Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.

• Builds tests cases in order to validate business requirements and End-User Testing results.

• Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.

• Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.

• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

• Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.

• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

• Between 5 - 10 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Provide leadership and guidance to team members, set project goals, and ensure successful project delivery.

• Management of complex projects and driving strategic initiatives.

• Business requirements definition and analysis.

• Insights development and reporting.

• Application functional design.

• Functional Analysis.

• Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
