Department Manager – Project Engineering Management

Department Manager – Project Engineering Management is a role within the KBR organization that supervises and manages project engineers, and engineering managers. The role requires ingenuity in review of execution strategies for various technologies and clients. A diverse background in technical, commercial, and contractual experiences is encouraged for the role as the department is integral to the successful execution of projects. The role requires the ability to resource projects with the right expertise to enable projects to deliver for our clients and to innovate procedures and policies to stay competitive along with reimagining KBR’s execution and delivery on a project.
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Review and approval of nonstandard execution methods.
- Innovative ways to deliver to client’s needs and expectations.
- Develop and maintain an overall department budget.
- Provide guidance and oversight on projects while driving KBR’s quality initiatives and standards.
- Establish succession planning and mentorship throughout the group.
- Responsible for all personnel decisions across the team.
- Aid in sales and proposal pursuits including development of work hour estimates required to properly execute a given scope of work.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum ten (10) years of experience, with an average of 15
- Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus
- Knowledge/expertise in engineering execution for a diverse range of project types and phases across the refining, petrochemical, and LNG industries.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including responsibility for budget
- Experience with employee performance appraisals and coaching required
