We are looking for a Business Director – New Growth to join our company.
You will be given the opportunity to shape the overall strategy and its execution by identifying global trends, conducting market analysis and evaluating targets within the scope of product lines that are new to the company or externally to enable the use of selective solution partners as a powerful growth driver. Blending market analysis, new solution portfolio strategy and execution, providing a unique opportunity to lead organically whilst developing our business.
Who you will work with:
You will report to the Vice President New Growth and is part of the New Growth Management Team. The Business Director works in an ecosystem where product solutions are developed both vertically and horizontally across product groups and segments. Therefore, close cooperation with the other Vertical Business Directors, as well as colleagues in the Technical Sales and Services, Technical Operations, Pricing and Digital functions is required. Moreover, the Business Director works very closely with the Sales and Customer Service organization to facilitate and enable the sales teams to sell the New Growth / products.
From nothing to something important:
- Assess the market trends and new customer spend to identify and prioritize strategic gaps, evaluate buy, build, and partner options.
- Provide recommendations on potential acquisitions / partnerships via detailed analysis
- Market mapping to solve customer pain points and maintain a strong external advisory network to inform deal flow and key trends.
From something important to recognizing revenue:
- Ensure the optimal design for the market and launch of new products & solutions by building an effective go to market strategy plan with clear deliverables and accountabilities.
- Establish and work within the defined project management set up – collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Recognizing revenue to making it big:
- Manage the profit and loss for the new business solutions. Lead the solution team, develop new products and market strategies.
- Implement key performance indicators and measurements for profitability.
- Drive our sustainability strategy in the necessary direction as suitable for new business.
- Develop and manage concise upskilling offerings for sales, customer services and operations.
- Contribute to budgetary processes and take part in monthly business reviews to optimize the potential
- Monitor the competitive landscape, protect, and build market share, and manage the product brand and price position.
- Monitor and manage the marketing mix of the solution particularly price positioning, promotional activities to drive profitable growth and the product brand within the given frameworks.
- Utilize technology and digital opportunities where it has market potential.
- Support developing products, services, and digital solutions in cooperation with wider product / solution teams.
- Align customer needs across the product, sales, and operations organizations and develop plans and tactics for the customer portfolio.
- Develop inventory policies for the portfolio and review and monitor logistics cost, inventory turnover, availability, lead times and service levels.
What you need to be successful in the role:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering, technical studies and / or business administration
- 7+ years of managerial experience from maritime industry, preferably with P&L responsibility
