Project Manager - Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ)
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ). In this role, you will be responsible for delivering key projects and work packages within the national and/or London Counter Terrorism and Protective Security (CT & PS) complex change portfolio.
Role Overview:
- Daily Rate: £550 - £567.50
- Location: CTPHQ
- Reporting To: Senior Project Manager
- Role: Deliver specific projects and workstreams within the CT & PS change portfolio, working flexibly across various initiatives.
- Clearance: Candidates must hold DV clearance
Position within CTPHQ Change Pillar: The Change Pillar manages the Counter Terrorism (CT) and Protective Security (PS) Policing Change Portfolio. It is divided into four teams: Project and Programme Management (PPM), Portfolio Management, Change Management, and Business Design. As a Project Manager within the PPM team, you will oversee the delivery of projects and programmes critical to CT & PS objectives.
Job Purpose: To manage and deliver projects or workstreams across the change lifecycle, adhering to agreed parameters of time, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Proactively lead and manage discrete projects or work packages. Report to the Senior Project Manager or Senior Responsible Owner.
- Team Leadership: Manage both staff and contractor teams, ensuring effective project delivery.
- Governance & Control: Maintain project governance through active management of project plans, risk and issue registers, change control, and compliance with PPM standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Develop and manage Business Cases, create high-quality governance products (e.g., delivery RAG, dependency logs, project plans), and facilitate workshops.
- Change Control: Oversee Change Control Request (CCR) processes, ensuring effective management and audit compliance.
- Resource Management: Lead project teams, manage suppliers, and track resources, including organisation charts and trackers.
- Reporting Cycles: Establish and manage reporting cycles, prepare highlight reports, and ensure timely and accurate reporting to the PMO or PfMO.
- Budget Control: Assist Senior Project Managers/Programme Managers with budget control.
- Professional Guidance: Seek advice from the Programme Management Office (PMO) or Portfolio Management Office (PfMO) and ensure adherence to programme/project management processes and standards.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Project Management Expertise: Proven experience managing projects in complex environments, ideally in technical or ICT settings.
- Methodologies: Knowledge of project management methodologies such as MSP, Agile, and PRINCE2.
- Governance & Documentation: Experience in developing Business Cases, managing project controls, and creating comprehensive documentation.
- Qualifications: PRINCE2 Practitioner or equivalent qualification preferred. Civil Service Contract Management: Foundation is desirable.
