The Skills, Employment & Adult Education Service is part of Coventry City Council. We work with a range of delivery partners to provide a wide portfolio of top-quality support to Coventry residents of all ages who are looking for work. We work with partners across the city and our Employer Hub actively works with local employers to generate opportunities for local people.

We are looking for someone to oversee and coordinate new projects that are currently being piloted within the Skills and Employment Team supporting residents and our culturally diverse communities.

The post holder will be required to lead, co-ordinate and facilitate the projects and able to analyse, understand and interpret data, as well as covering a range of duties directed by the Project Lead. You will represent the Service across a wide range of forums and will need to demonstrate effective communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.

These projects are funded by the UKSPF grant and require additional staff to ensure their successful implementation and delivery.

These new projects will be for a fixed term and funded until 31st March 2025.

We are seeking to recruit to a full time, permanent Project Support Officer to be based in our Education and SEND Service and reporting to the Education Capital Strategy Manager.

The successful candidate will provide project support to enable delivery of sufficient places for Coventry children and young people and management of the education capital programme.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in the Public Health team supporting the development and ongoing sustainability of strategic partnerships that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of Coventry residents.

Working with the Population Health Policy Officer and Domestic Abuse Programme Manager the post will:

• Support the development of the Health and Wellbeing Board and relevant Scrutiny Boards
• Coordinate partnership work between a range of statutory and voluntary agencies to act on findings from Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDR’s) and Child Death Overview Panels (CDOP)
• Provide co-ordination and administrative support for Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews (DARDR) ensuring that the reviews are completed in line with legislation, statutory guidance, local guidance and best practise
• Be a key point of contact for independent DARDR Chairs and external agencies ensuring the process is delivered effectively
• Manage MS Teams and Sharepoint systems that support these workstreams
• Provide a single point of access for the CDOP team. The CDOP team sit within the ICB and require Coventry City Council to participate in child death reviews, child death panels and Sudden Death Joint Agency Responses. The post holder will be a key contact for the board in ensuring a timely and appropriate response from within the Council so that statutory duties are met.

• You’ll have significant experience in project support and admin duties including organising meetings, taking minutes, capturing actions, lessons learnt and good practice.
• You will have experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders, at all levels.
• You will have experience of working in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary sector partners, along with the ability to manage multiple demands, work methodically and achieve targets / deadlines
• You will have knowledge of statutory review processes e.g. DARDR’s, CDOP, Safeguarding Adult Reviews, Child Safeguarding Practise reviews and associated learning reviews
• You’ll be skilled at prioritising work, managing time and working autonomously under pressure to deliver to deadlines.
• You’ll be creative, proactive, and have experience in problem-solving and quick decision-making, whilst dealing with competing priorities.
• You will enjoy helping develop and learn new project and administrative processes to help projects to run smoothly.
• You will have excellent skills with Microsoft Word Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
• You will be someone keen to develop and learn new knowledge and skills in a supportive team environment.

Coventry are recruiting to House Project Facilitator posts in their Through Care Service. This is a new and exciting post working with the National House Project in Coventry.

As a Facilitator you will provide individual and group support to young people. You will work in collaboration with social care, education, health, housing and other agencies to ensure that young people’s views are at the heart of all decision making. The Coventry Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) is a part of a national programme funded until 2027 by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). It aims to increase the use of research in councils, so services are better and fairer and can help people have better life chances.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Coventry House Project team as a Senior House Project facilitator. The Coventry House Project is part of the National House Project. This role will enable the embedding of Life Long Links for care leavers.

The role of the Senior House Project Facilitator will be to lead and support the development of the project and work intensively with children in care and care leavers to enable them to develop their own House Project, prepare them for independence, and support them to secure their own long-term tenancy and maintain an EET pathway. The Senior role will provide supervision to other facilitators on the project and deputise for the House Project lead.

The Holiday Activities and Food programme is an innovative Department for Education-funded national initiative, aimed at addressing holiday inequalities. Our Coventry HAF team leads the Coventry programme through partners who deliver an inspiring blend of free activities, experiences and food to eligible Coventry children and young people.

In the 2023 summer holidays our programme benefitted over 4,000 children plus family members through c.120 different activities delivered by c.100 organisations. Eligibility for the programme is for children on benefits-related free school meals plus other eligibility criteria. HAF is delivered in the Easter, Summer and Christmas school holidays.

The HAF team is responsible for managing the programme through: setting the local objectives, managing grants to organisations, co-ordinating bookings, marketing activities, and assessing and evaluating the quality of provision and food. Our programme is well established and in 2024 we are aiming to continue to increase participation in the programme and the range of activities offered, particularly focusing on the accessibility of activities. This is to contribute to the national case to continue DfE funding to HAF from April 2025 onwards.
