Job Description:
The IT Business Partner is the trusted advisor to the Business Teams, who is able to maximize value by leveraging our IT assets and services.
By bringing a strong understanding of the business needs and the capabilities of our systems, the IT Business Partner will be responsible for ensuring that business needs are fully understood, well defined, aligned with strategy and progressed to delivery by the broad IT team. Secondly the IT Business Partner will maintain excellent relationships with leaders, both in IT and the business groups, providing the visible point of contact for all IT needs within the Platform/Function.
The role requires a highly collaborative individual who can coordinate across a matrix organized group to ensure the delivery of high quality, on budget, timely solutions that leverage best practices for BW.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Collaborate with Business Leaders to understand future business requirements and strategy, work across IT to ensure our strategy/roadmaps/services align to these and ensure engagement between stakeholders.
- Engage with business stakeholders regularly to review and prioritize service requests, enhancement backlog, collaborate with IT service leaders and team members to scope, estimate and plan initiatives/projects.
- Deliver business value by leveraging IT services and enable continuous improvement activities in collaboration with Enterprise and Platform IT.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with business and IT service owners, enabling resolution where differing agendas, politics, and resistance may be apparent. Ensure that business stakeholders understand the “why” behind IT policies and services.
- Build a good working knowledge of IT Services, core applications, technologies, governance processes and project tools to be able to represent the IT offer appropriately to business stakeholders.
- Act as a “Functional” expert to the platform for one area of our enterprise landscape (Supply Chain/Operations, Customer Experience/order cycle, etc), be the key point of contact for our functional leaders.
- Responsible for translating business needs into well considered requirements ensuring that all appropriate stakeholders are engaged, generating accurate project/service requirements. Further, monitor the project through its full lifecycle, keep stakeholders appraised of progress and any escalations.
- Directly manage projects or act as part of the project team to deliver business focused programs.
- Work with IT service owners to develop and manage appropriate monitoring of service levels, enhancements, and projects. Track customer satisfaction with the IT services.
- Work closely with enterprise organization change management leader to ensure change processes followed while deploying change to business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related field.
Knowledge and Experience
- 7+ years of relevant IT/ Business experience to include partnering with Business and IT stakeholders, exposure to various software development & deployment methodologies including Agile software development and DevOps, and 2+ years of program and service management leadership.
- Extensive experience working in a large, complex, and customer-focused service delivery environment, in support of business strategy.
- Experience facilitating change management involving business processes change.
- Demonstrated knowledge of core business processes and operations, with a deep expertise on one segment of the core business applications landscape (Supply Chain/Operations, Customer Experience/order cycle),
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic use of technology to optimize business deliverables.
- Strong understanding of business requirements and the ability to translate business requirements into actionable IT programs of work.
- Proven experience facilitating identification of creative solutions.
- Able to communicate up and down the management chain, providing the appropriate message to the audience.

Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in a standard office setting working at a desk or table on a level surface.
Position Type:
This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek will require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.
This is a regular, full-time position with frequent overtime. Must be able, available, and willing to work more than 40 hours per week, including scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Travel:
Moderate domestic (vendors, user, and customer site visits) and occasional international travel required as part of this role.
Physical Demands:
The role requires the use of constant use computers and standard office equipment. Mental and visual attention is necessary to perform various duties.
