This will be delivered through effective collaborative working with University students and staff, plus wider stakeholders including the local authority, local NHS providers, the third sector and independent/private sector. Through consultation, collaboration, coproduction, developing, implementing, monitoring and leading key public health programmes across the University, the post holder will help us reduce health inequalities and improve health and wellbeing for our students [and staff].

The postholder will play a key role in forging partnerships with, and influencing all key stakeholders, including public health commissioners and providers, to ensure the widest possible participation in the public health agenda to support the development and delivery of strategic objectives. The post holder will report performance and progress to the Head of Student Support and Wellbeing and governance committees within Durham University.

The post holder will also benefit from a partnership agreement with Durham County Council's Public Health Team who will provide professional mentorship for the role and identify relevant training opportunities. This will also help to ensure our excellent working relationship between the two organisations is maintained and further strengthened.
