• You will utilize knowledge of location, capacity, capability, and availability of Shipyard facilities and services.

• You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
• You will develop performance standards; evaluate work performance of subordinates and give advice, counsel, or instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters.

• You will provide technical and administrative supervision and training for administrative support personnel assigned to NRRO.
• You will direct subordinates and review their work.

• You will conduct corrective interviews with employees and recommend appropriate disciplinary action when warranted.

• You will develop, implement, and modify a Risk Strategy for each assigned maintenance availability to include the details associated with the methods and data sources to be used in the risk management process.
• You will coordinate, direct, and provide Risk Management training as required to improve process knowledge, communication, awareness, ownership and management of risks.
• You will maintain the risk management database and develop and submit risk management reports to support project, organizational, and customer meeting and communications.
• You will work with risk leads, track the accomplishment of assigned mitigation actions and support risk leads and other project team members in assessing the actual risk of impact of those actions.
• You will maintain a working relationship with other project Risk Managers and share process-related learning points as well as specific risk-related information to improve overall shipyard maintenance/production effectiveness and efficiency.

• You will provide administrative and technical supervision for Nuclear Engineering Technicians.
• You will review work, including reports submitted by subordinates for accuracy and completeness of data, technical competence, correctness of presentation, compliance with established guidelines, and progress of work.
• You will review all nuclear work estimates prepared by the branch for technical adequacy and proper manday and material estimates.
• You will analyze and resolve administrative, financial, and scheduling problems related to department workload.

The role of Assistant Director/Consultant in Public Health is a senior position within the Public Health Directorate and will report to the Director of Public Health.

The Assistant Director/Consultant in Public Health (CPH) will be expected to work in partnership with other teams at the Council and external stakeholder to help deliver this vision and improve outcomes for our residents. This will be achieved by a combination of strategic leadership and the commissioning and / or direct delivery of public health services.

What you will need to succeed

This is a senior role within the Public Health Directorate Management Team and we are looking for a consultant with senior leadership experience who can influence stakeholders to make decisions and policy changes, often in challenging and complex environments.

The post holder will have strategic responsibility for some health improvement, health protection, healthcare, public health areas and public health input into children's, adults and families. The post will be part of the Public Health Directorate and will report to the Director of Public Health for Portsmouth. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly within the public health team and take on other areas dependent on the needs of the population and team.

We are working closely with children's and families services, Adult Social Care and with NHS HIOW (ICB) on the 'place' health and wellbeing agenda.
