This position reports to Senior Director, Learning & Professional Development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
(A) Programme Development and Management:
· Oversee the development and implementation of programme strategies, objectives, and work plans to drive success.
· Manage budgetary aspects related to academic programmes, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
· Oversee programme evaluations and provide recommendations for improvements.
· Prepare and present programme reports to senior management and stakeholders.
(B) Training and Education:
· Plan, design, review, and update academic programmes for legal industry professionals.
· Design and create curriculum, training courseware such as coursebooks and reading materials, lesson plans and assessment plans, for blended learning.
· Conduct and facilitate skills-focused structured training sessions in accordance with best andragogical practices.
· Facilitate asynchronous learning and engage learners through a learning management system and other collaborative technology solutions.
· Collaborate with adjunct faculty and guest speakers to deliver quality learning sessions.
· Conduct course assessments.
· Provide guidance, mentorship and career counseling to learners.
· Where interests align with legal research and publication projects in SAL Group, engage in research and writing for the advancement of legal knowledge and understanding.
(C) Quality Assurance and Accreditation Compliance:
· Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure the academic integrity of programmes, including assessment and evaluation methods, and adherence to Skillsfuture Singapore requirements and other accreditation standards.
· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programme alignment with government policies and regulations.
(D) Team Management:
· Recruit and manage fellow faculty members, adjunct faculty and staff to maintain a high standard of teaching and research excellence.
· Provide guidance and support to the programme team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
(E) Outreach and Engagement:
· Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including industry partners, relevant professional organisations, and government bodies.
· Collaborate with related organisations or bodies to promote programmes.
· Engage with legal industry regularly to ensure relevance.
· Direct and drive promotion and outreach efforts to meet programme registration targets.
KEY SPECIFICATION
· A good Law degree from a recognised university with at least 10 years’ relevant experience in legal practice or continuing legal education. Adult education, learning & development, instructional design or curriculum development experience preferred.
· Able to build positive and productive relationships with colleagues and other stakeholders. A mature network of contacts relevant to the role would be an advantage.
· Good interpersonal, writing, communication and presentation skills.
· Meticulous, resourceful, creative and organised with leadership qualities. Experience in managing learning and development teams preferred.
· Able to engage confidently with members of the Judiciary and legal community
· Experience with using learning management systems and other legal technology would be an advantage.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
