Location: Leeds (LS15), Leicester (LE67) or London (UB6) (with hybrid working after completion of training or will consider remote with monthly meeting attendance at our office required)

The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will support the Head of Privacy and Chief of Staff by managing the in-house legal portfolio, and co-ordinating with external legal advisors. The role is crucial in ensuring efficient contract management, safeguarding intellectual property, and maintaining compliance with legal and ethical standards. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic planning and governance, facilitating smooth legal operations and supporting the company’s growth and adherence to regulations.

What you’ll be doing?
Prepare and submit requests for specialised legal advice and co-ordinate communications with external legal advisors
Assist in the entire contract lifecycle including reviews, drafting standard terms, and managing NDAs
Support initiatives against Anti-Bribery and Anti-Modern Slavery practices and ensure adherence to the company’s Code of Conduct & Ethics
Assist in the development and management of intellectual property strategy, including the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights
Help develop governance policies, maintain legal risk registers, and manage legal reporting and compliance checks, and organise and review documents for due diligence processes and maintain an up-to-date database
Engage in strategic planning efforts to enhance legal preparedness and support organizational goals
Draft, review, and provide advice on contracts/legal documents to protect the company’s interests and provide general legal support
Work closely with various teams across the business including customer service, purchasing, operations, and pharmacists to ensure legal alignment with business operations
Contribute to maintaining a fun, relaxed, and friendly workplace environment, supporting a positive work culture and team spirit
Who are we looking for?
Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, or a related field
Familiarity with compliance standards, governance policies, and regulatory frameworks
Previous experience in a legal coordinator, paralegal, or legal assistant role, ideally within a corporate setting
Demonstrable experience in contract management and intellectual property law
Ability to prioritise and organise tasks and workload coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in legal research and document management
Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
