This business is a global organisation, who provide specialist energy management. The company have recently won a new contract and are now looking to expand their OT Security Team. You will be a part of a growing organisation who are continuing to bring on new clients and expand their business. You will be based in office, either in Weybridge or Maidenhead.
Your new role
This is exciting opportunity to either pivot into cyber from a Network Engineer role, or it is a chance for an existing Security Engineer to focus on OT Security. You will be working for a global organisation, on one of their client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance, and patching of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure for Microsoft Windows and UNIX based platform. The Junior OT Security Engineer will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures comply with internal and external standards and security requirements. Some of the key responsibilities for the role are below:
- Engineering of solutions for various project and operational needs.
- Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
- Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks.
- Perform system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Support daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
- Supported by Regional OT Cybersecurity Sensei (Regional OT CS Expert)
- Provide site support in the following areas
- OT Network and Cybersecurity Support (including cybersecurity risk guidance - "Archer")
- Assistance in adding/changing/modifying OT Systems (Servers, Devices, etc) - Moving/Adding/Changing/Deleting
- Guidance in provisioning, patching and upgrading systems (PLCs, Servers, OT Workstations)
- System Architecture Support (IP, segmentation, etc)
- Assist in maintaining site asset lists and network architecture diagrams
- Manage Claroty x-Dome implementation and ServiceNOW OT Assets
LIASE with Central Team to streamline workflows, shorten resolution time and simplify processes
The following items include:
- Claroty
- Crowdstrike
- Network changes (OBS)
- Firewall Changes (Accenture)
- Provisioning (Central Team)
What you\'ll need to succeed
You will need strong engineering experience, within a manufacturing, automotive, or production environment. You will also need the following:
- Ability to multitask and prioritise work across multiple projects providing effective solutions to complex technical challenges.
- Knowledge, and experience with ISA / IEC 62443.
- Knowledge of system security within an OT environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and UNIX based platforms.
- 1-2 years of experience in system administration/security/engineering.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. You will be representing a client, on their customers site. So good communication skills are necessary.
What you\'ll get in return
You will be working for a global organisation, initially on a contract basis, but with a possibility of turning into a permanent role, depending on the success of the project. You'll initially be looking at £400-£450 per day, with the possibility of gaining additional certificates whilst in role.
