We are looking for an Civil Engineering Intern to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to our Engineering Director, Site Design and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.
Role and Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of engineering plans, specifications and reports for new fuel cell installation projects, including using computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop civil engineering drawings.
Assist in the performance of field and office assignments, which may include data collection and analysis, reviewing building codes, zoning ordinances, and other regulations, and report and calculation preparation.
Attend project meetings, as directed, to observe and learn about civil engineering principles at work.
Help prepare quantity take-offs for construction projects.
Observe construction sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with safety regulations and engineering plans.
Researching new construction materials and methods in order to recommend improvements to existing designs.
Prepare draft reports and presentations based on your observations and research.
Support template updates to improve accuracy for future projects.
Participate in peer-to-peer design reviews and provide critical feedback to colleagues.
Basic understanding of civil engineering design principles.
Proficient in AutoCAD for 2-D drawings and Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability
Undergraduate Junior or Senior working toward a B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
Professional & collaborative, comfortable working closely with a team.
Highly motivated and a self-starter.
Must be eligible to work in the US.
This internship is scheduled to begin June 2024 and end on approximately August 2024.
