Sightsavers is looking for a Global Security Intern to support our Global Security team with research and administration tasks and to gain experience and practical skills within the global security industry.
Salary: £21,840 per annum (real living wage)
Location: UK remote - with occasional travel to Haywards Heath, when required although this is negotiable
Contract: 3 Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Part-time, Flexible. 2.5 days a week with flexibility around days/hours worked
About the role
We are looking for a Global Security Intern to help support the Global Security Team with research and administration tasks as well as project work that will develop your skill set and experience within international security and risk management and contribute to making the world more inclusive. This is an exciting opportunity and a practical, hands-on first step within global security, ideal for someone with who demonstrates excellent research, written and presentation skills.
- Maintaining and updating Sightsavers online security training modules
- Researching and writing country security context analyses for upcoming projects
- Maintaining and updating country security plans for Sightsavers operating countries
- Providing written analysis of current security issues for the management security report
- Drafting template documents when required by the security team
- Support the global security team when engaging with the Security Focal Point network

- Relevant work experience in international security (e.g., global travel management, international logistics, Government services, military) OR a degree (or equivalent) in a related field (e.g., intelligence, security, risk management, conflict studies, international relations).
- Proven ability to research and analyse information accurately, producing high-quality written work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with administrative and general office duties.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset, with a demonstrable interest in the INGO field and/or international security industry.
About you
As a dedicated and detail-oriented individual, you will support Sightsavers' global security team with a variety of research and administrative tasks. Your role will involve conducting thorough research, writing and analysing security incidents, data, and reports, as well as maintaining and updating security documentation. You will also handle general administrative duties as required by the security team.
