This role will involve being part of the security team, carrying out security tasks on and across the inpatient environment. They are to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff and ensure the service meets the needs of all service users. Participation in the delivery of therapeutic interventions, under the guidance of the ward staff. Participate in procedures involving intensive engagement and care of individuals who are distressed and / or verbally or physically aggressive. Be able to recognise signs of abuse and know procedures they need to follow to escalate their concerns. Provide regular and practical support to individuals and their carers on safety and security matters To maintain the dignity and well-being of individuals and their carers at all times. Escorting individuals under direction of Nurse-in-Charge. Participating in ward / team Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and discussions as and when required. As required keep accurate records of interventions provided as indentified in patient care plans as directed by the Nurse-in-Charge and ensure all entries are validated on the electronic records system. Promptly report any difficulties encountered whilst implementing agreed care plans to the Nurse-in-Charge, and be able to report both verbally and in written form against progress of care plans. Fitness to Practice and to Undertake Job Role The post holder should ensure their fitness to undertake the post they should be able to demonstrate they are able to undertake the level of general training and personal safety training appropriate to their role and work area, and keep this training up-to-date. The Cyber Operations sub-directorate consists of 4 operational areas:
• Cyber Security Operations Unit (CSOU) - SIO
• Cyber Delivery Unit (CDU).

The Senior Incident Manager role is a great opportunity to work within the CSOU leading on the management of serious and complex cyber security investigations.
You should have great communication skills and not be averse to public speaking and be able to communicate concepts and ideas across a range of stakeholders.
You will lead on process improvement work within the Incident Management team and act as a Cyber Security subject matter expert.
Flexibility is required as during an incident there may be extended hours of work.
You must be able to prepare reports to a standard that would withstand robust scrutiny.
An understanding of the computer misuse act and the data protection act is required.
You should be able to understand the cyber threat landscape.
You should understand the volatility of data, the importance of continuity of evidence and digital forensics.
• Manage Serious and Complex Cyber Security Investigations.
• Write and develop documentation such as playbooks and user guides.
• Write detailed investigation reports.
• Gather and manage large volumes of information from a variety of sources during an investigation.
• Support Incident Managers and Juniors Incident Managers with their investigations.
• Act as a second-tier escalation point for analysts within the CSOU.
• Manage and resolve more complex enquiries.
• Manage Cyber Incident Response teams that are deployed during a cyber security incident.
• Create strategies for digital forensics investigators.
• Run and chair blended calls during a Cyber Security Incident, ensuring they are structured and effective.
• Ensure standards by reviewing security tickets created by analysts and Incident Managers within the CSOU.
• Deliver cyber security and Incident Management presentations to a diverse audience.
• Write articles and share information that can help educate the wider systems on current and emerging cyber security threats.
• Gather key performance indicators and deliver reports.
• Use tooling such as Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Splunk during cyber security investigations.
• Work across teams to develop and advance cyber security investigations by bringing together a variety of skills sets and knowledge to achieve successful outcomes.
• Act as a cyber security Subject Matter Expert for projects and improvements across the transformation directorate.

The post of Senior Security Advisor has been awarded a Recruitment and Retention Premia (RRP) in response to current labour market conditions. In recognition of this, the role attracts an additional monthly RRP payment equal to 20% per annum.

The CSOC, part of the CSOU, function provides centralised monitoring and response across NHS England, and the system. The CSOC consists of Threat Operations (ThreatOps), Detect and Respond, Incident Management, Service Operations (ServiceOps) and Development Operations (DevOps).

As a Security Trainee, you will:
• Join the Protective Monitoring team to be in the Analyst Pool where you will be involved in triaging and responding to alerts through a SIEM tool.
• Work within the Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), rotating through different teams in the CSOC to learn different Security Operations and Threat Operations specialties.
• Provide an initial analysis on security data to identify potential threats and formulate recommendations and actions to consider in order to remediate and respond.
• Support senior colleagues in assessing, planning, and advising stakeholders on security measures that will help protect us from security breaches and attacks on its computer networks and systems.
• Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments, including researching and evaluating emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.
