Major Accountabilities:
[75%] Security and Supervisory Duties
(a) Secures all university facilities and ensures that facilities are properly secured; (b) responds to all emergency calls intrusion alarms and fire alarms and ensures that proper procedures are followed; (c) directs hazard reports, medical
assistance, and other security related incidents to the proper authorities, including the Director of Security, the Honolulu Police or Fire departments, or university administrators immediately and processes incident reports within 24 hours; (d) interviews Witnesses and contacts all parties, involved and make sure that all investigations are conducted properly and findings are accurately documented; (e) oversees the enforcement of campus trespass/ban list, parking/traffic laws and issues moving violation citations; (f) enforces 9:00 pm campus curfew and escorts those youth under 17 years old off campus ; (g) enforces 10:00 pm dorm quiet hours and 1:00 am dorm curfew; (h) maintains and enforces trespass/ban list; (i) reviews all shift reports written by check point guards, dispatchers and any other subordinates on duty during incumbent's shift; j) supervises and coordinates routine patrols of the campus and its facilities; (k) supervises and monitors checkpoint after hours and checks vehicles without campus parking permits and/or suspicious persons.

(a) Attends all training and department meetings; (b) assists in training officers and dispatchers in performing their duties;
(c) performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B,A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Law enforcement, security or military experience required.
Skill Set:
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must be able to understand, speak, read and write clearly in English.
- Must be mature and honest and should be in good physical and mental health.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and requires ability to act quickly and make decisions concerning the safety of students, faculty and community members and campus equipment.
- Ability to supervise and train and requires accuracy and integrity when filling out reports and making allegations.
Certifications/Licenses: Must have a valid Hawaii driver's license. Must have a Hawaii State Security Guard certification or be able to qualify for one. CPR and basic First Aid certification within 90 days of employment.
Approximate starting hourly rate: $20.00- $22.00. The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.
Physical requirements
Round the clock outdoor work environment, sometimes stressful situations.
Work Shift: Rotate shifts quarterly. Must be able to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
