Job Summary:
The IT Security Specialist at Aquion Pty Ltd plays a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the security of the company’s IT infrastructure. This involves a comprehensive range of tasks, from assessing and upgrading security systems to supporting staff with their IT needs. The specialist ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and data against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
Core Responsibilities:
Internal Security (40% of time):
Assessing the status of company IT, network, and security systems.
Designing and implementing security networks and protocols.
Inspecting and upgrading hardware to mitigate vulnerabilities.
Upgrading and managing security software on company systems.
Regularly inspecting and testing network security.
Conducting penetration tests on updated systems.
Responding promptly to security threats and incidents.
Drafting and updating security policies and guidelines.
Training staff on security protocols and best practices.
Support (50% of time):
Providing general IT-related support to internal staff.
Recommending improvements to internal IT systems and networks.
Onboarding new internal users and ensuring they are equipped with necessary IT resources.
Performing general administrative duties to ensure smooth IT operations within the company.
Other Duties (10% of time):
Assisting with complex vendor/customer IT requests or issue escalations.
Addressing additional IT-related tasks as directed by management or as required by the company.
Business Goals/Accountabilities:
The IT Security Specialist is accountable for ensuring the overall security and efficiency of the company’s IT infrastructure.
