- Performs heavy mobile equipment mechanic work including troubleshooting malfunctions, determining the type and extent of repair required, repairing, and maintaining equipment including, but not limited to, 25,000 (25K) and 60,000 (60K) pound capacity aircraft platform loading deck cargo loaders, 50,000 (50K) pound capacity container handlers, bulldozers, power shovels, road graders, mobile cranes, and other types of material handling and construction equipment.
- Performs automotive mechanic work including troubleshooting malfunctions, determining the type and extent of repair required, repairing, and maintaining vehicles including forklifts, tow tractors, truck tractors and trailers, sweeper trucks, wreckers, busses, vans, ambulances, pickup trucks, sedans, and hybrid vehicles.

This position is within the Office of Research and Development (ORD) at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Headquarters in Washington, DC within the national Million Veteran Program (MVP) Office. ORD aspires to discover knowledge, develop VA researchers and health care leaders, create innovation that advance health care for our Veterans and the nation. MVP is one of the largest research programs to date that links information on genetics, health, lifestyle, and military experiences to Veterans' health with the goal of facilitating high quality research that will improve health care for Veterans. The MVP Program Office in ORD, umbrellas MVP Coordinating Centers and Scientific Cores with over 200 staff, as they oversee complex scientific and administrative functions across the VHA as well as at various partners supporting MVP like the Department of Energy.

The role

Works closely with and under the guidance of the Engineering Manager.  Primarily, the role will be responsible to provide technical support for production incidents and customer deployments Secondarily, and time allowing, the role will deliver product enhancements and improvements.

You will analyse and build a deep technical understanding of GBG’s Fraud products.  With this knowledge, you will provide on call support, support for deployments/installations, investigate and resolve incidents as well as contribute to product development.  

What you will do

As a member of the NextGen technology team in Kuala Lumpur, acquire knowledge and technical capability to support customer installations of the Fraud platforms and products.

Specifically:

• Form part of the 24/7 on-call support roster
• Support scheduled customer deployments and installation
• Prepare deployment check lists
• Smoke test deployments before handing over to the customer
• Review the deployment package before sending it to the customer
• Investigate and where possible, resolve incidents and problems

In addition, and time allowing, the Software Engineer (Support) will contribute to product development.

Specifically:

• Deliver features in line with the overall technical and product strategy

What are we looking for

Technical Skills
