As a Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer for equipment maintenance this position is to perform maintenance and repair work on automobiles, trucks, tractors and other heavy equipment including gasoline, diesel engines and other mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronically controlled systems.
The incumbent will be responsible for maintenance and repair to park vehicles and large and small construction equipment. Prepare daily and monthly reports using the computer with such programs as Word, Excel and the Facility Management Software Systems. Complete requisitions for parts and supplies.
Troubleshoots and repairs components and systems such as engines, transmissions, differentials, transaxles, hydraulics, electronic fuel injection, emissions systems Incumbent will also be responsible for inspecting, repairing and overhauling small and large engines and other components on items such as lawn mowers, weed eaters, chainsaws, pumps, ATV's and all other related park equipment. Removes and installs accessory items, such as lights, radios, gun racks, toolboxes and ladder racks.
Some positions may involve maintenance way of work on the Cuyahoga Valley National Railroad which includes equipment operations, mechanical repairs, mowing along the railroad, clearing line of sights, tree trimming, and removal. Incumbent doing maintenance way of work is subject to mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing and random drug and alcohol testing per the regulations established by the Federal Railroad Authority.
This position will be located in the Maintenance Division at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It has been established to provide the park with maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles, small engine and heavy equipment within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The employee works under the direct supervision of the Engineering Equipment Operator Supervisor. The employee is guided by memoranda, National Park Service standards, OSHA, EPA and State of Ohio codes.
