A Vacancy at Swansea Bay University Health Board.
Responsible for the Health Boards compliance with Environment / Waste Legislation, ISO accreditation and Energy performance.
Working closely with the Technical Services Manager as well as the Estates Department and other Directorates and partners. This role requires a wide range of Environmental knowledge necessitating a multi-disciplinary approach to address the significant challenges faced by the Health Board, therefore applicants should be motivated and enthusiastic with a proven experience of managing within the Environmental discipline.
Regular travel between the Health Board’s large portfolio of sites is an essential requirement of the post.
Working within a small team with in the Estates Department , will be required to interact and provide professional advice to a wide rage of departments within the Health Board.
Lead specialist required to promote of environmental and waste management practices in line with legislation ensuring compliance across ABM University Local Health Board. Provide specialist advice and guidance exchanging complex information as related to waste management where barriers to understanding exist.
Manage the statutory role of Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, carrying out appropriate audits, developing corrective action plans and producing the statutory annual reports for the Health Board
Work with Health Board Estates Managers to closely monitor and control clinical, hazardous and general waste throughout the Health Board, ensuring strict compliance. Responsible for the specification and subsequent management of all waste management contracted services.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
