The Network Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex enterprise and critical network infrastructure (CNI) to support our business objectives.
This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level of network performance, security, and efficiency.
What you’ll be doing as a Network Architect
- Responsible for defining the Technology Roadmap and Reference Architectures for the future Network plans for Thames Water that underpin and deliver the overall Technology Strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop network solutions that align with organizational goals
- Develop and maintain an accurate model of our network architecture
- Demonstrate architectural change over time both in terms of innovation and renovation of the existing technology estate
- Inform and influence technical decisions made at governance boards and design authorities. Perform Architecture Impact Assessments, to help size and shape ideas and initiatives at an early stage.
- Work with platform and solution architects to embed, as appropriate, network design as part of our overall development methodology
Base Location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court Reading
Working Pattern – 36 hours a week (Flexible working hours)
What you should bring to the role
Essential
- Extensive experience in IT and OT architecture
- Worked with network Layer 2 and 3 Technologies such as VLAN, RSTP, BGP, MRP
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and is fully experienced at dealing with stakeholders. Proficient and effective communicator.
- Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles and frameworks,
- CCNP, CISSP qualification or equivalent
Desirable
- Stakeholder Analysis experience
- Preferred previous experience within the utility industry or large (>20,000 devices), complex enterprises
- Security Technologies
- Security Clearance
