This Assistant Technical Officer post offers an exciting opportunity to develop your laboratory skills. As a Band 3 Assistant Technical Officer, you will participate in the laboratory testing procedures and provide technical support to Scientific staff within the Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology department.

The Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology laboratory at Peterborough City Hospital is part of the recently formed North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. Peterborough, the green city of the East of England, offers a thriving city with a rich history and very affordable living. Peterborough also boasts excellent transport links. There are regular trains to London and have easy access to Cambridge, and the rest of Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

You will also need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated, flexible and have good attention to detail. The ideal candidate will also be computer literate and familiar with working to ISO15189 standards. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in a rota which provides extended hours support for the laboratory service.

The PCNs vision is to work together to deliver the best possible outcomes for our patients and staff. You will work in close partnership with our member practice teams as well as health, statutory and voluntary groups to create effective help and support for those that need it whilst being a key point of contact to enable patients to be supported within their local community. Empowering people to take control of their health and wellbeing through GP referral to non-medical Community Link Workers CLWs based in GP surgeries who give time, focus on what matters to me and take a holistic approach, connecting people to community groups and statutory services for practical and emotional support. Community Link Workers work collaboratively with all local partners. Social prescribing can help to strengthen community and personal resilience and reduces health inequalities by addressing the wider determinants of health, such as debt, poor housing, and physical inactivity, by increasing peoples active involvement with their local communities. It particularly works for people with long-term conditions (including support for mental health), for people who are lonely or isolated, or have complex social needs which affect their wellbeing. Key responsibilities Liaise and engage with member practices to ensure Community Link Workers SPLWs are valued and effective members of the PCN team. Establish and maintain effective liaison with stakeholders including health, voluntary, social, financial and education resources. Work in partnership with local voluntary and community organisation to build a comprehensive directory of local resource to design and support social prescribing. Ensure information on local voluntary and community resource is always up to date to enable effective and accurate signposting and linking of patients with services. Train and develop wider practice teams to improve SPLW referral suitability and effectiveness. Establish and maintain comprehensive data and evaluation systems. Produce quarterly reports in relation to service delivery and progress. Partake in audit as directed by the PCN Clinical Director. When appropriate, refer patients back to other health professionals agencies, if their requirements exceed the scope of a SPLW. The post holder will work within their clinical competence as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide expertise in clinical medicines management. This involves providing face to face structured medication reviews, managing long term conditions, ensuring safe prescribing at the transfer of care, implementing systems for safer prescribing, repeat prescription reauthorisation and dealing with acute prescription requests. The post holder will perform face to face medication review of patients with polypharmacy, especially for older people, people in residential care homes and those with multiple comorbidities. The post holder will provide leadership on quality improvement and clinical audit, and manage some aspects of the Quality and Outcomes Framework. This role is pivotal to improving the quality of care and operational efficiencies so requires motivation and passion to deliver an excellent service within general practice. The post holder will be supported to develop their role to become a non-medical prescriber, if that qualification is not already held. Patient Facing Long-Term Conditions Clinics See where appropriate patients with single or multiple medical problems where medicine optimisation is required e.g. COPD, asthma. Review the on-going need for each medicine, a review of monitoring needs and an opportunity to support patients with their medicines taking ensuring they get the best use of their medicines i.e. medicines optimisation. Make appropriate recommendations to GPs for medicine improvement. Patient facing Clinical Medication Review Undertake clinical medication reviews with patients and produce recommendations for senior clinical pharmacist, nurses and or GP on prescribing and monitoring. Management of medicines at discharge from hospital To reconcile medicines following discharge from hospitals, intermediate care and into care homes, including identifying and rectifying unexplained changes and working with patients and community pharmacists to ensure patients receive the medicines they need post discharge. Set up and manage systems to ensure continuity of medicines supply to high risk groups of patients e.g. those with medicine compliance aids or those in care homes. Service Development Contribute pharmaceutical advice for the development and implementation of new services that have medicinal components e.g. advice on treatment pathways and patient information leaflets. Medicines quality improvement Undertake clinical audits of prescribing in areas directed by the GPs, feedback the results and implement changes in conjunction with the practice team. Implementation of local and national guidelines and formulary recommendations Monitor practice prescribing against the local health economys RAG list and make recommendations to GPs for medicines that should be prescribed by hospital doctors red drugs or subject to shared care amber drugs. The Opportunity

There is an excellent opportunity for an Operational Technical Specialist to join our team in Peterborough. The role will be working with life and pension products, so experience in that sector would be preferred.

Your role will be to provide an occupational/private pensions and life consultancy, to all areas of Phoenix account, ensuring compliance with legislation and eliminating any areas of exposure to the company.

You'll be:

• Supporting senior managers, technical colleagues, and QA area to ensure training, referrals, auditing and HMRC rules are completed in line with HMRC and legislative requirements and systems functionality/processes.
• Interpreting policy documents, rules and regulations to identify benefits to be provided and appropriate beneficiaries in the event of a non-standard claim.
• Liaising with operational management to ensure correct procedures are followed and identifying and resolving any existing or proposed business initiatives to minimise risk to Diligenta and Phoenix
• Providing technical support to the change area, including meeting attendance, document review, testing, Review Business Requirements documents, written by change Business Analysts, providing feedback and eventual technical sign off

You should apply if you have:

• Good knowledge and understanding of FCA and PRA guidelines.
• Knowledge and understanding of Pensions and life legislation and HMRC provisions.
• Experience in approving or drafting policy documents and customer documentation.
• Ability to work on own initiative to agreed timescales and manage own workload.
