• Works in coordination with other internal reviewing services regarding complex audits and internal/external reviews of a national concern; i. e, fiscal efficiencies and organizational structure that are reviewed by prominent parties such as the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
• Tracks both routine and uncommon deadlines initiated by OIG/GAO and internal reviewing officials to ensure timely submission of responses and actions.
• Communicates with responsible staff agency members to ensure completion of all requested actions and appropriately closes out all requests.
• Works closely with senior management and others in implementing and evaluating policies, plans, and internal operational systems such as correspondence management, information tracking among pertinent offices and stakeholders, and internal/external communication
  flows.
• Contacts and engages frequently with staff at all levels to facilitate the work of the office related to a variety of operations-focused assignments and projects initiated by senior leadership or program offices, or departmental offices. This interaction is essential in order to identify substantive issues, establish relative priorities, and determine those issues requiring tracking.
• Manages and coordinates of all online communication tools such as assigned intranet websites, internal SharePoint website collection, and other related informational tools in consultation with communication specialists.

  Your Role

  Day to do you will be required to tend to any general maintenance tasks which can include

• General building maintenance
  
• Water temperature checks

• Fixing leaks and lighting
  
• Putting up shelving and fixing doors
  
• Painting
  
• Fixing doors and locks
  
• General gardening duties where required .
  

  About You

  • You'll be working independently under the maintenance supervisor, so you'll be happy to manage your own workload
    
  • You must have a full UK license
    
  • You will need to be available for temporary work - not suitable for someone in a permanent position
    
  • The role will involve a variation of tasks so you will need to be happy to undertake a range of maintenance duties
    
  • You'll be customer focussed, and happy to go the extra mile for customers when required
    
  • You will have experience carrying out the listed tasks either on site or for maintenance companies
    
  • You will utilise your years of experience to carry out the work to a high standard

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need? 

• Experience of information security, designing solutions and services with security controls embedded.

• Experience of implementing enterprise security tooling and platforms in line with the NIST cyber security framework or equivalent, and CIS security controls.

• Deep understanding of each layer of an organisation's cyber security controls, being able to define solutions that enable defence in depth.

• Leads investigative work into problems and opportunities in existing processes, driving the collection of information and creation of recommendations for improvements.

• Can absorb large amounts of conflicting information and use it to determine solutions.

• Designs, implements, administers, and supports Security products and services, ensuring adherence to Digital Security Standards and Architectural Principles both on premise and in Cloud.

You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to convey complex ideas and plans to both stakeholders and technical teams.

You'll be advising senior DWP stakeholders on the development of technical strategy, and how we get to right outcomes.

You'll work closely with security, production and infrastructure to ensure resilient and available products, as well as working with our delivery team so that we're aligned and using best practice across product development.

The Head of Release Engineering oversees the entire release management function across the System C group, including leading a team of release train engineers.

This role focuses on managing the end-to-end release process, from development through to production, ensuring that releases are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with business goals.

The Head of Release plays a critical role in optimising processes, managing risks, and ensuring cross-functional alignment across product, engineering, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Release Planning & Coordination

• Own the release management lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across multiple applications and projects.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Development, QA, and Operations teams to ensure releases are planned and delivered according to business priorities.
• Manage release schedules, ensuring dependencies are identified, risks are mitigated, and deliverables are aligned with business timelines.
• Coordinate pre- and post-release activities, ensuring all teams are prepared for go-live and that rollbacks or hotfixes are handled efficiently if needed.

Process Improvement & Governance

• Develop and maintain efficient release management processes, ensuring they are consistently followed across all R&D teams.
• Promote, implement and improve best practices for release automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery pipelines.
• Ensure proper governance around release approvals, gatekeeping, and post-release reviews, ensuring lessons learned are applied to future releases.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise release frequency and reduce risks associated with deployments.

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify, track, and manage risks related to release readiness, including potential delays, quality issues, or operational bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to proactively resolve conflicts in priorities, resources, or technical challenges that could impact release success.
• Ensure release-related issues are escalated and managed promptly, with clear communication to all stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Alignment & Communication

• Act as the primary point of contact for all release-related activities, providing regular updates on release status, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, QA, Operations) to ensure alignment on release goals, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Ensure stakeholders are informed of release impacts, and that release schedules are communicated clearly across the organisation.
• Foster collaboration and coordination between teams to streamline release processes and resolve conflicts.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in release or engineering management.
• Extensive experience in release management, with a strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, such as SAFe, Kanban and Lean.
• Experience managing complex, multi-platform release processes in a fast-paced, high-availability environment.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple teams and manage competing priorities.
• Proficient in release automation tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, etc.).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage expectations.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with experience managing risks and resolving conflicts in a dynamic environment.
