You will be required to complete RCD testing, emergency lighting tests as well as pre-planned maintenance of power supplies and various other electrical systems within a major retail chain across Southampton. Your new role

As part of their innovation and research plan, you will keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, which will steer the further of their IT department. Alongside this you will look at business process optimization, working closely with different departments to identify inefficiencies in existing processes and areas where technology can be leveraged to improve efficiency and productivity.
A fundamental element to this role will be business partnering, visiting different sites across the country, listening and understanding their challenges and how you can make improvements across each sites through innovation, this will require you to conduct research and evaluate each site covering any potential risks along the way. You will add to the culture of improvement forward-thinking / whilst understanding where they have come from, and they are. Establishing processes for monitoring and evaluating the performance of technology initiatives. You will be required to utilize data analytics tools to extract insights from the CRM and other systems. Use these insights to drive strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for business growth.

About the Team

The Highways and Transport Service is responsible for ensuring the effective management, maintenance and improvement of all highway and transport assets. The highway is the most valuable asset managed by Surrey County Council with a replacement value of approximately £7.5bn, and it is critical to the economic growth of the County. It is regarded by Councillors and residents as one of the most important services provided by the Council.

About the Role

This role sits within the Technical Support Team where we provide a central administrative and project support function to the wider team.

As a Technical Support Officer you'll be at the heart of ensuring we always deliver an excellent service. On a day-to-day basis you will take on crucial business support duties which include purchasing and invoicing, business reporting, facilities and reception duties. You will respond to a high volume and wide range of requests, supporting the wider teams to deliver the overall objectives of the service. Technical Support Officers are also the first point of contact for the public and visitors at a key county office, therefore it is important that you promote a positive first and lasting image of the County Council.

First and foremost, we're looking for excellent customer service skills! This is key to the role and we need someone who can embrace this in their approach, ensuring that both they and the team put the customer at the heart of everything they do.
