XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit a Director of Technology & Innovation. The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing leadership and management of the IT operations, processes and controls across the organization, as well as supporting the academic innovation and collaboration with XCL Education group.
The IT Director will oversee the IT infrastructure, hardware, systems, security, policies and programs, and supervise the IT staff. As a member of the extended leadership team, the IT Director will develop and implement the IT strategy and vision in alignment with the school's mission and goals.
Main Responsibilities
· Manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, hardware, systems, security and network, ensuring reliability, availability, performance and scalability.
· Develop and implement IT policies, standards, procedures and best practices, ensuring compliance with external and internal requirements, such as data protection, privacy, intellectual property and copyright.
· Plan, manage and be accountable for the IT budget, guiding purchasing decisions and investments, fostering good relationships with vendors and service providers, and ensuring cost-effectiveness and value for money.
· Hire, supervise, evaluate and develop the IT staff, providing direction, guidance, training and feedback.
· Assess the IT needs and requirements of the organization, and propose and implement solutions to meet the current and future demands.
· Lead and coordinate IT projects, such as cloud migration, system integration, system upgrade, system consolidation, system standardization and system optimization.
· Collaborate with the XCL Education group on IT initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment and consistency across the group, and delivering group-wide solutions locally.
· Support the academic innovation and the integration of technology into the curriculum and learning, in partnership with the Dean of Learning, the Teacher Librarian and the teachers.
· Promote the role and value of technology in learning and teaching, and provide professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
· Stay abreast of new developments and trends in technology, and evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions that can enhance the organization's performance and goals.
Person Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership, management and technical experience in IT operations, processes and controls.
- Strong working knowledge and technical competence in IT infrastructure, hardware, systems, security, network, cloud, database and project management.
- Knowledge and experience in overseeing Apple Computer Corp. environments, including MacOS and iOS deployment in a 1:1 environment.
- Ability to build, manage, mentor, inspire and provide direction to the IT team.
- Ability to plan, execute and deliver IT projects on time, on budget and on scope.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with various stakeholders, such as senior management, faculty, staff, students, parents, vendors and service providers.
- Ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve complex IT problems, both technically and functionally.
- Ability to use initiative, work proactively and adapt to changing needs and priorities.
- High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
- Passion and enthusiasm for technology and education.
