Job Title: Senior Network Technician

As A Senior Network Technician for Cadent, you will provide support for our Integrated Security Solution system, you will be collaborating with our Energy Control Centre and Technical Security Engineers to destermine site access for all aspects of work and attendance as well as designing and driving key improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Servicing, maintaining and asset replacing (installing) various security disciplines on the Cadent estate. This will include but not limited to, monitored Closed Circuit television, both analogue and digital, centrally managed access control systems, Intercom, Monitored Pulse Fence (MPF), acoustic fence and intruder alarm, security white and infra-red lighting, CCTV IP Network Infrastructure.
- Developing, implementing & managing safe working practices, maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance plans & engineering standards & specifications.
- Providing support throughout the UK at our remote locations. Working alongside support teams, you will provide key interface between Integrated Security Solution team, site operations and our specialist contractors.
- Supporting with associated outsourced Service Providers’ performance against agreed Service Levels.
- Supporting the ISS team as part of an on-call 24x7x365 rota.
- Providing technical assurance for the services, ensuring Change Management Process is adhered to and Changes are technically validated to protect live service.
- Supporting with technical standards for related technology /infrastructure and strategic decisions.
- Supporting the regular completion of audit activities.
- Host 3rd line specialist contactors on site visits and provide sensible monitoring of the work activity throughout the entire works and be responsible for the verification of the work against the task. Liaise with the site owner throughout the entire lifecycle of the works whether that be a Planned maintenance visit, installation, or service repair or even a scoping visit to establish a plan of action
Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in the electronic security industry with good working knowledge of CCTV and integrated Security systems.
- Experience of installation or servicing of CCTV, Access control, intruder and door, gate entry systems is required.
- Approved Electrician and/or City & Guilds 236 Pt 1 and 2 in Electrical Installation and maintenance or equivalent desirable and will be expected to be or working towards, BS2382 BS18th edition wiring regulations.
- SCO 1,2, & 5 & GAS SHEA certified, or working towards
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to read prepared electrical plans and technical sketches as well as identify from a drawing, the location of equipment and services on site that you will be working on and install service and repair systems in accordance with information provided, and record changes to and the location of equipment on the installation drawings and update the required asset registers.
- Experience of supporting mission critical systems, with good knowledge of system technologies, CCTV, Access control systems, monitoring tools, processes, and incident handling in a 24x7x365 support environment.
- HNC/SNVQ L3 or equivalent operational experience in network engineering techniques supported by relevant training or qualifications.
- Holds EUSR Gas Safety Passport.
Technical knowledge in one of the following areas:
- IOSH or recognised training or qualifications on Health, Safety & Environment.
- Gallagher control systems.
- Operational Technology i.e. Remote Telemetry Unit [RTU].
- ITIL 4 foundation.
