Responsibilities:

• Document, install, configure, automate, monitor and operationalize various cloud tasks along side team guidance.

• Perform operational engineering for activities which include platform upgrades/deployments, patching, monitoring, configuration, recoverability and system troubleshooting.

• Work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and developers to create functional design specifications, cloud reference architectures, and assist with other project deliverables as needed.

Qualifications:

• Working on a course study in Computer Sciences and aligning interests to the following areas of Cloud Operations Engineering:

  • AWS Lambda supporting serverless applications on AWS.  Azure Kubernetes Services/AKS also desired.

  • Docker/Containers

  • Technical support including systems design and implementation with a strong focus on Azure and AWS platforms.

• General knowledge with Python/PowerShell, and other automation tools supporting platforms for AWS and Azure.

• General knowledge of virtualization, cloud computing, GH Copilot.

• Experience administering/supporting Windows and/or Linux systems running in public cloud

• Knowledge of AWS and Microsoft Azure virtual network appliances

• Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP, etc.

• Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting

• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery processes 

• Knowledge of Devops, Agile, Infrastructure as code strongly desired

• Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS offerings and services in AWS and Azure

Applied Materials’ MDP/ALD Service Business Unit (SBU) is searching for a Technical Program management intern to join our team in summer 2024! MDP and ALD are leadership products for Applied Materials. This position will entail the following:

• Identify complex tool Issues utilizing analytics, equipment and process knowledge.
• Cost of Ownership/Cost of consumable model development/validation for BU New Product Introductions; Spare Parts Pricing Portal (SP3) support to team, process optimization of SP3.
• Support the adoption of new service technologies including Digital Tools offerings at the customer sites through on-site evaluations, Joint Development Programs and Comprehensive Service Agreements (CSAs).
• Participate discussions with the Business Unit and Field Account teams to understand their High Value Problems (HVP).

Requirements

• Student must be pursuing a Ph.D. candidate degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific and engineering field.
• Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
• Experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred.
• Experience in technical program management preferred.

Compensation

$48-52 per hour

The rate offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Today, Electronic Warfare (EW) is a growing enterprise - protecting the warfighter and our national security against ever-adapting threats. The Leidos Innovations Center (LInC) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Hardware Engineer Intern to support programs in San Diego, CA with opportunities for a motivated candidate to lead tasks and/or efforts. Bring your experience and knowledge of hardware design to support activities throughout the entire hardware design lifecycle to include post-fabrication integration and test. More broadly, you will advance the state of the art in research and advanced applications to support ongoing and future programs in the areas of Electronic Attack, Electronic Protection, and Electronic Support. You’ll also get to work alongside scientists and field experts in these fields to help grow your own knowledge and career.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work in small teams or individually to achieve program success

• Communicate results in briefings and written material to team and management as appropriate

• Take direction from Team or Task Lead

• Contribute to design, integration and test of SoCs

• Analyze results from simulation or real data to identify root causes and trends

• Plan and perform analytical and engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering and customer specifications.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

• Must be enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or related field, and have completed at least 1 year of curriculum with a minimum 3.0 GPA

• Experience with Matlab and C++

• Adaptability to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Secret or higher-level clearance

• Analytical skills and experience in the areas of adaptive filter theory, spectral estimation, detection and estimation theory, linear algebra, and/or stochastic processes

• Academic projects focused on application of modeling and simulation (M&S), radar, adaptive radar, signals processing, algorithm development synthetic aperture radar (SAR) or similar fields
