My client in Glasgow is looking to bring on a Technical Architect/Consultant to support them for an initial 3 month project, Outside IR35.

Overview of the Business Problem:

The business' PMs have tracking methods in place however they are looking for someone who has lots of experience in Software Development Projects to make sure they have a single well understood method of how their backlogs are working to help bring these strands together. A model will be created to give the Senior Leaders in the business clarity of the resource allocation across all software development projects (business delivery, enterprise delivery, client). Ideally the structure will allow the appropriate costing of running projects and build a model that includes ROI calculations, forecasting and demand management to anticipate the financial impact of starting new projects.

Requirements:

• Familiar or have experience within the Azure DevOps Environment
• Experience in Solving Business problems through Technical Solutions
• Background and Strong experience in working in Software Development Projects
• Qualification or background in Finance/Accounting would be extremely beneficial for the role
• Architecture experience would be advantageous
• Experience with going above and beyond completing a Task, and striving towards solving a Business Problem
• Track record of completing and Delivering on Projects within a set time frame and budget.

The System Performance group at SSEN Transmission has an opportunity for a System Integration Manager (Power System Analysis) to lead a team providing detailed study support for major projects connecting to the transmission system in the north of Scotland. What do I need?

- A good understanding of power system modelling and analysis with experience in at least three of the following areas: load flow and short circuit calculations, dynamic (RMS) simulation, power quality and system monitoring, EMT simulation for transients, EMT simulation for control interaction studies and automation scripting.

- Experience of managing complex technical study work and line management.

• Provision of direct support to the Regions, Control Centres and participate in user groups for SCADA and operational systems including faults, maintenance, and new installations.
• Operations, archiving, documentation, controlling and logging access, maintenance, upgrades, repairs of systems faults and incidents and in liaison with internal and external parties ensure upgrades comply with Company policies and procedures for SCADA and operational IT systems, hardware, and environment.
• Reviews, updates, documents, and communicates back up / emergency procedures for SCADA and operational systems.
• Create and maintain supporting policy and procedure documentation.
• Interface with Data Management and SCADA Support sections for the accurate coordination of system data management.
• Regularly liaise with internal customers (e.g., Control Room staff) to ensure business needs are met.
• Liaise with other support organisations (such as GE/UKIT/Systal/HP-CDS) for maintenance and fault issue progression.
• Ensure timely reaction and restoration of all RTS system faults.
• Contribute as an effective member of the RTS team to ensure the required level of team performance.
• Provide support for User Training team.
• Provides the business with necessary reports derived from RTS system data, using scripts and other means to generate these.
• Participate as a member of the RTS External or Internal Standby Rotas (if and as required by the business).

• Responsible for ensuring high availability and performance of the entire RTS suite of business-critical systems (safety, regulation and reputation critical).
• Responsible for ensuring that the RTS databases and UI are accurately and timeously updated to allow commissioning of new substations and plant on the SPEN Transmission and Distribution networks.

Experience of:
• Real Time Systems, in particular the GE e-terra EMS application
• Working knowledge of SCADA protocols IEC 60870-5-101/104 and ICCP
• Working knowledge of telecoms requirements for SCADA communications
• Experience of Change Control practices for RTS databases and UI.

• EN Distribution / Transmission engineering.
• Experience of dealing with Suppliers, Contractors and Consultants and administering related contracts.

The School of Health and Wellbeing is home to our Electrocardiology Core Laboratory, based in Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where we continue to develop software currently used to interpret over 25 million electrocardiograms (ECGs) each year worldwide. New uses of the ECG are emerging, based on the use of artificial intelligence techniques. The Glasgow team needs to keep abreast of such advances, which means expanding the team involved in software development.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Development Support Officer to join the Software Development Group where you will be able to use your experience of programming in a high-level language to assist in the enhancement of our world leading software.

You will have knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems and your experience of programming could come from your College/ University course or from a previous similar role. In return, we will offer you opportunities to enhance your knowledge of software development on a range of platforms, as well as contributing to research in the field, particularly in relation to Machine Learning. You will also have the rare opportunity to assist with the preparation of publications and interacting with leading industry partners. You will also gain an understanding of the recording and interpretation of ECGs.

Working in a mobile capacity across the Glasgow & Edinburgh area's, you will travel to client sites in the provided company vehicle and complete building services engineering maintenance to a variety of client properties.

In your new role you will be responsible for undertaking a variety of tasks including maintenance inspections, fault finding, upgrades and installations activities.

These will be completed to achieve the highest level of service for the client, answering queries, reporting any defects and keeping them informed of site activities at the time of the service visit.
