We are looking for an experienced Gas Engineer to work with a range of Mitie clients carrying out maintenance and repair, including fabric & basic electrical tasks of buildings as required under contract. To ensure all PPM and Reactive tasks are completed to the required legislative standards. To ensure all required paperwork is completed and submitted within timescales.

You'll carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports. You'll ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within the required timescales, ensure all certification is correctly completed and remedial works clearly identified. As a Gas Engineer you will also need to carry out reactive and emergency tasks and expected to complete all tasks using handheld technology effectively.

Candidates must be able to be on a call out rota to provide clients with full out of hours cover and assist other team members when required or as directed from a Supervisor or Contract Manager. You'll need to have a proactive approach to sourcing additional opportunities or works on sites and source and provide required information for quotes. You'll also monitor visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety and issue appropriate Permits, controlling small works and escort duties as required.

The ideal candidate will be Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role. Have experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment: Including, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables, Batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable) Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.

Our Skilled Engineers are employed on work that is appropriate to their core and specialist skills. They will, however, be expected to have / acquire elements of other skills which will enable them to work flexibly across trades.
Main Duties;

• Provide a reactive and planned proactive maintenance (PPM) service as per project requirements for all operational assets.
• Provide a multi-skilled maintenance service, which covers electrical, mechanical and building fabric disciplines.
• Carry out modifications and installations as and when required.
• Liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required and clearly communicate about technical issues.
• Ensure that work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures.
• Maximise availability of all mechanical and electrical equipment through continuous improvement, optimum performance / improved efficiencies and cost reductions.
• Maintain equipment supported by sound diagnostic and problem-solving skills, raising issues as required to the shift supervisor on a timely basis.
• Maintain, repair, and calibrate electrical, mechanical and instrumentation plant to optimise both reliability and maintainability.
• Provide a service that ensures all key performance indicators (KPI) / service level agreements (SLA) are met.
• Take ownership of tools and equipment provided and ensure they are maintained to an appropriate standard - reporting any defects immediately.
• Provide technical support/input for projects and initiatives.

What you\'ll need to succeed
Suitable training and up-skilling - may be given, as and when required, to achieve competency and the ability to perform the following (as detailed in responsibilities).
Working hours - Although the core working hours are 08:00 to 17:00, there may be a certain degree of flexibility depending on individual circumstances.

• Experience of working within commercial properties and installations.
• Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation and its application within a role.
• Ability to effectively prioritise your own workload.
