We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex data sets and deriving actionable insights to drive strategic business decisions. Join our Economic Crime Intelligence Lab in a key Data Science role you'll see how a leading FinTech fights fraud whilst ensuring continuity of the service our customers expect. You're going after the fraudsters, the social engineering con-artists and money mules. In turn this helps to protect customers and wider society from the harm caused by fraud and scams.

You'd be using your skills in Python to update and maintain our machine learning libraries underpinning our fraud controls. You'll work with new technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Pyspark), toolsets and techniques to embed the latest solutions into our products. Your skills will in time be utilised within wider Economic Crime areas with exposure to even wider technologies and learning.

Ultimately you'll get to identify innovative solutions within machine learning and use statistical analysis to detect and prevent fraud against our customers and the bank. Your input will help our fraud detection become ever more sophisticated through improved accuracy i.e. less interruption of genuine customer transactions. You'll also have very well-defined success metrics (e.g. detection rate, alert rate) and an abundance of meaningful, complex data for you to get stuck into.

Their key programme analyses the latest evidence on prevention and survival, focusing on diet, nutrition, physical activity, and body weight. Collaborating with charities in the US, Netherlands and Hong Kong, their work informs policies and practices worldwide.

As Head of Research, you will spearhead the delivery of one their key programmes, overseeing its strategic direction and operational aspects. Liaising with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to ensure the program's success.

What a Data Science Intern, Visa Consulting & Analytics does at Visa:

The incumbent will be part of VCA geographic team cluster of Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia (IPVMC) markets, and will be responsible for advisory engagements with Visa's clients in this cluster. These are highly diversified geographies with clients at different levels of progress. You will be challenged to stretch your thinking and innovation is always an edge to the work that we do.

The Intern will work on exciting client engagements as part of a team as well as take responsibility on key portions of new client engagements. Together with experienced data scientists and consultants, the Intern will contribute ideas, opinions, and new information, perform complex data analytics and/or data modeling, work on client engagement proposals and complete project contracts.
