An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technology Education Technician to join the School of Education.

In this role, the successful candidate will manage and deliver high quality technical support services across the teaching laboratory and workshop space used by the School of Education, including providing specialist technical expertise in relevant technological disciplines.

The postholder will have responsibility for the organisation and day-to-day running of the laboratory, workshop and specialist facilities. This includes ensuring equipment, apparatus and consumables are available for use as required.

In addition, the postholder will be responsible for overseeing the work of the teaching support staff and practical skills laboratory sessions for MDTechEd students.

This post is offered on an open ended (permanent) basis and will be full time (35 hours per week), during term time (36 weeks) to tie in with the University term dates.

The University of Strathclyde is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Head of Education Technology to join Education Enhancement and manage highly motivated multidisciplinary team in delivering our Digital Learning and Teaching ecosystem (Myplace). Reporting to the Head of Education Technology, you will play a critical role in operational management, team leadership, and the development of the Myplace (Moodle) digital teaching and learning platform. This position requires expertise in education technology, learning design, and systems thinking, along with a proven track record in successful delivery of technology-based educational enhancement projects.

In this role, you will manage the Myplace support service, oversee complex digital education projects, and provide specialist advice on learning design and technology. You will also deputise for the Head of Education Technology in various committees and project meetings, ensuring effective delivery of strategic objectives and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for the overall planning, development, and oversight of the Trauma Injury Prevention Program as well as trauma education for the Adult Trauma Programs at Albany Medical Center. The objectives of the program are to educate AMC staff and the community about injury prevention and trauma care.

Hourly Range: $35.81 - 59.09

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Trauma Program Manager with development and implementation of injury prevention programs
• Serve as a resource for trauma care and injury prevention education to nursing staff, pre-hospital personnel, and community groups
• Conduct community education programs for diverse populations and coordinate responses to requests for injury prevention information
• Collaborate with other departments within the institution on programs for trauma education and injury prevention, including Emergency Department, EMS Outreach, and Rehabilitation services
• Serves as the lead trauma program coordinator overseeing screening and brief intervention (SBIRT)
• Develop and maintain a public presence for the prevention program
• Develop brochures, audiovisual aids, and presentation handouts as necessary
• Act as a spokesperson for injury and trauma prevention issues
• Act as a liaison to other hospitals and community groups for trauma prevention and outreach
• Identify, pursue, and obtain sources of program support and/or grant funding
• Establish and implement strategies for continuous improvement
• Plan and coordinate Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses
• Organize and facilitate the annual Trauma Symposium
• Maintain organized documentation of trauma education and injury prevention activities related to the Albany Med Trauma Program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in health-related profession - required
• 1-3 years of job-related experience - required
• Familiarity with trauma system design and function - preferred
• Background and experience in health education/outreach - preferred
• Prior experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of community-based programs - preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Strong media relations skills
• High comfort level with public speaking
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Work with others to accomplish a task or goal or find a solution
• Flexible in work practices, procedures, and/or processes
• Work independently as well as with diverse groups and teams
