Join our dynamic team with a unique offering of a 24-month paternity leave coverage as a Mobility and Transportation Electronics TS&D Specialist. This exciting opportunity is based in Seneffe, Belgium, or Wiesbaden, Germany, where you'll play a crucial role in Dow Mobility and Transportation.

As a TS&D Specialist, you support customer needs by assisting in the development of new products and applications. You provide technical knowledge on the performance, use, and handling of Dow products. In addition, the TS&D Specialist supports product development projects in alignment with the commercial business strategy, delivering high value growth through technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within multifunctional teams to accelerate Dow's digital evolution
• Support project teams to solve chemical, material, and industrial related challenges through both fundamental and applied research
• Engage in diverse project work encompassing product and process research, application development, operations improvements, and supply chain optimization
• Resolve technology challenges using a scientific methodology, a multidisciplinary approach, and innovative thinking
• Utilize experimental design and modeling tools to establish structure-process-property relationships, expediting research
• Develop novel methodologies and modeling tools for simulating, characterizing, and optimizing technology development, with documented results reported in proprietary research reports

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Material Science, or a closely related field
• Proven track record of successful technical project management
• Fluency in English

Preferred qualifications

• Six Sigma training
• Proficiency in French, German, or another European language
• Experience with mechanical testing according to international norms and standards
• Proficient in one or more programming languages, e.g., Python, R, SQL or other data science environments  
• Experience in Pandas (library), Jupyter Notebook, and Git

Skills/abilities/knowledge

• Knowledge about cloud computing, Azure AutoML, JMP AutoML, DevOps-based pipelines, Flask, and Dash is desired
• Understanding of chemical, polymer, and material properties, manufacturing processes, and supply chains
• Familiarity with machine learning, recognizing its applicability to industry and potential for value creation
• Managing confidential information and property (access to systems) properly 
• Demonstrated high-level business acumen, effective stakeholder management and relationship building
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral

The principal reason for this job is to support and assist external customers and Elliott business unit operational personnel in analysis of technical inquiries regarding installation, operation, maintenance, product improvement and/or failure analysis related to assigned areas of responsibility. The technical service engineer will compile facts and technical information required into coherent, logically prepared reports, to be communicated as required. The technical service engineer is to be a single point contact on assigned product lines, to accomplish the following tasks:

• develop solutions to field technical problems, 
• provide direct technical support to internal and external customers on new apparatus and global service projects
• participate in root cause failure analysis
• conduct engineering studies

Specific Job Responsibilities

• Acts as a Global Services technical focal point servicing both internal and external customers. 
• Performs and directs key investigations, projects and related activities which require independent action and decision.
• Participates in and/or leads root cause failure analysis projects as directed.
• Provides field service and service centers support for major projects and overhauls. 
• Execute product and service warranty, including investigations, analysis, and corrections (including budgeting), with the purpose of maintaining a satisfied customer base while managing internal financial constraints and objectives.
• Visit customers and equipment installation sites to obtain information to troubleshoot problems. Responsible for investigating, developing, presenting, and implementing corrective action. 
• Collaborates with other departments to insure timely and effective problem solving of field problems for the assigned area of responsibility. 
• Performs liaison function with other engineering departments on the specification, manufacturing, assembly, material quality, testing, repair, performance and operation for assigned products. Includes consulting with service groups on re-rates, defective parts, new part orders, engineering studies and design changes. 
• Collaborates with other engineering groups in development of new products (design reviews) and improvement of existing products (Product Action Teams) from a service standpoint.
• Assists with technical aspects of sales/project execution activities when necessary. 
• Generates Service Engineering Bulletins and Elliott Technical Service Letters as assigned.
• Assists and participates in the development of the overall technical service team capabilities and performance.
• Develops and presents technical training as directed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The TASKI Technical Service Representative adds value after sales. This individual will provide service and act as a single point of contact to customers and employees with respect to ordering parts and the servicing of TASKI and NSS equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide excellent customer service by giving accurate information, timely response and taking ownership. 
• Maintain a high level of personal knowledge in respect to TASKI and NSS equipment, parts and related functions. 
• Communicate with customers by telephone, email, remote guidance, or chat to perform necessary diagnostic assessments.  Determine proper course of action for repairs.
• Communicate with a broad range of customers in North America, to understand the customer’s specific service and parts requirements.
• Collaborate with Technical Specialists, Distributors, TASKI / NSS Sales Professionals and 3rd party service providers.
• Address complaints or problems which may arise throughout a service cycle.  Determine the nature and cause of those problem(s), seek appropriate assistance, and to take action to resolve the problem(s) so as not to reoccur.  
• Receive and process orders in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Dispatch service calls in conjunction with service providers and in accordance with company or customer policies.
• Advise customers and employees of company and supplier policies such as warranties and return of goods.
• Utilize computer technology and systems including SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft 365 suite, Intellitrail, Remote Guidance and basic telephone systems.
• Promote companies' products and after sales services through up-selling techniques where appropriate.
• Conduct after sales follow up calls for accessories and parts needs based on preventative maintenance.
• Bring closure to service repairs through the use of after service customer satisfaction surveys, and to take necessary action for any unresolved issues that may arise.
• Understand, communicate, and determine warranty coverage where applicable.
• Complete a minimum of 100 hours per year of continued learning & development.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1+ years of experience in a technical and/or customer service environment.
• Experience in technical work either electronic or mechanical (i.e. schematic reading skills) is a plus.
• Professional communication skills – should be able to communicate with peers, customers and vendors both via verbally and via e-mail in a respectful and friendly manner when under stress.
• Active listening skills – Ability to ask probing questions, understand concerns and overcome objectives.
• Ability to build relationships by phone and e-mail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment – should be able to multi-task with proven follow-through and adherence to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Attention to detail – should be able to complete accurate data entry tasks.
• Action orientated – should be able self-start and follow up on feedback to ensure positive outcomes with a willingness to learn.

SALARY & BENEFITS:

The current pay range for this position is $55,000+. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon, but may not be limited to, the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
