Job Descriptions:
- Procure, source, and purchase vessels' spare parts, supplies, and services, including preparing relevant purchase orders and job orders to ensure proper supply for vessels.
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to assist Superintendents in determining the best offer among potential suppliers.
- Verify suppliers’ invoices against quotations and track vessels’ total expenditure against approved budgets. Resolve any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Monitor vessels’ movements, liaise with suppliers, masters, and agents to ensure timely delivery of supplies on board.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchased stores and spares for vessels, including follow-up and filing.
- Actively follow up on vessels’ defect reports, arrange third-party service vendors, and manage docking issues.
- Coordinate closely with Technical Superintendents and shipboard officers on various technical matters.
- Maintain and update vessels’ technical certificates and arrange renewals as required.
- Perform any ad-hoc duties assigned by Technical Superintendents or Technical Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma holders with 2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the Shipping industry.
- Familiarity with vessel records and certificates.
- Meticulous, IT savvy, good team player, and able to communicate effectively.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
