Essex County Council (ECC) are delighted to be supporting North Herts Council to recruit an IT Application Development Officer.
Exact work location - Candidates should be able to attend the Council offices in Letchworth Garden City typically 1 day per week, subject to service needs with remote working and flexible hours to be discussed at interview.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced I.T. Application Development Officer to join North Herts Council
The Opportunity
The organization is currently on an enhanced 'digital transformation' journey to make everything we do 'digital by default' and deliver services in the most efficient and effective way.
You will be key in supporting the IT Senior Development and Cyber Security Officer designing, developing, integrating and supporting a wide range of technical projects to help in this journey.
The Experience You Will Bring
- You will have experience of supporting applications and database products running on Windows based virtual hardware.
- You will have experience of managing 3rd party upgrades e.g. Oracle / MSSQL and installing vendor supplied application patches to enhance functionality, fix application errors and meet legislative changes.
- You will need to have good customer service skills, be able to work as part of a close team, with an attention to detail and able to prioritise a complex workload in a busy environment.
- You must have programming skills in C# (minimum 2 years) and experience with developing system integrations, analyzing data and creating inhouse line of business applications.
- You must have developed integrations including Extract, Load, Transform (ELT / data conversion) between various inhouse and 3rd party systems using a number of techniques e.g. RESTful, SOAP, XML, JSON, CSV, and SQL Databases.
- You will need to have used technology stacks such as Winforms, Web, ASP.NET Core, NET Framework/Net 6-8 (Core), Blazor,WPF & .NET MAUI (mobile apps).
- You must be keen to learn new skills, troubleshoot, diagnose problems and be security focused.
