The Focus of the Role:
Based in either the London or Peterborough office (hybrid working possible) you will work closely with the Technical SEO Strategist and Head of Audience Development to implement technical SEO strategies to deliver search visibility growth on brands across our portfolio.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a technical SEO specialist to join a close-knit team of SEO and content experts. The role requires an analytical mindset to interpret data and communicate SEO best practices to key stakeholders to ensure that our websites are performing at their peak capability.
The ideal candidate will be proactive with great enthusiasm, have a passion for digital and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest algorithm updates and technical SEO developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide SEO analysis and recommendations on the structure of sites and web pages to identify technical quick wins to boost site performance.
- Conduct technical SEO site audits and process 301 redirect requests.
- Support brands with any taxonomy, site migration or CMS changes
- Identify and help fix any site errors including 404s, crawl errors and thin pages.
- Work closely with web development team to implement and monitor changes.
- Create SEO reports for stakeholders showing progress, and identifying weakness or lost opportunities.
- Keep pace with Google algorithm updates and refine best practices accordingly.
- Be data-driven and continually looking into search demand, topics and trends from a variety of data sources.
- Attend industry events and run workshops with Bauer Media teams to share knowledge.
- Support and assist on other areas, such as managing relationship with external agencies.
What You'll Bring:
- Previous experience of working in technical SEO, preferably within a content / publishing environment
- Good knowledge of SEO including best practices, ranking factors and SEO techniques
- Solid understanding of technical frameworks such as structured data
- Experience in analysing and interpreting web traffic and performing competitor analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of Google Analytics & Webmaster tools
- Experience with Google Search Console, Lighthouse, PageSpeed Insights or similar
- Good knowledge of SEO tools such as OnCrawl, SEMrush, Ahrefs and Screaming Frog
- Diplomatic and persuasive with fantastic communication skills to build working relationships with development team.
- Comfortable measuring, interpreting, and making real-time decisions based on large volumes of marketing performance data.
- Good spreadsheet skills to work with raw data and create actionable insights.
