Job Description:

Parsons has a position for a REVIT Fire Protection System Designer to join the Fire Protection Engineering Division of Parsons Federal Solutions in support of various Government projects. Parsons Federal Engineering provides a broad array of engineering design services for US Government customers, including Fire and Life Safety Engineering and Fire Protection System Design.  US Citizenship is required: The Candidate must have the ability to obtain US Government security clearances.

Required:

• Minimum of 4 years of REVIT MEP design experience preferably in Fire Protection System design.
• Must be able to complete design projects start to finish, while working independently
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Program experience with, and working knowledge of, REVIT, AutoCAD, BIM, and Microsoft Suite. 
• Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards including NFPA 70 and NFPA 72.
• Perform voltage drop and battery capacity calculations; prepare calculations manually and by using software.
• Prepare logical sequence of operations (I/O Matrix).
• Prepare stock listing, product data sheets, and installation requirements
• Prepare design documents including layout of fire alarm and special hazards fire protection systems.
• Prepare shop and as-built drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comply with all safety policies
• Visit construction sites or frequent travel with overnight stay.
• Must be able to obtain Governmental clearances.
• Ability to solve basic math problems including geometry and algebra.
• Proficient in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365 (Office). 
• Comply with all National and Parsons safety policies.
• Visit construction sites with frequent travel and overnight stay.
• Ability to complete site surveys and identify code issues and find solutions.
• Work in a professional office environment and routinely use standard office equipment. Qualified candidates will receive consideration to work remotely.

Preferred:

• Field experience.
• NICET Level II or higher Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Software Engineer / Research Scientist to join our team! In this role you will get to support analytical research of machine learning deployments on various platforms.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Experience working within and administering Linux systems and using Python, Bash, and source control/software repositories is critical.

• Ability to work both individually and in a multi-team development project is important, as well as experience gathering results and publishing technical results for review

• Administer Linux systems (Ubuntu, Mint, CentOS for example) and development using Python, C++, and other software repositories

• Deploy optimized ML algorithms in a ROS environment on UGVs

• Containerization technologies such as Docker to create images for perception algorithms to be evaluated in ROS environment

• Contribute to research both individually and as part of a multi-team project  

• Document and publish the results of the field tests in technical reports
