The Service:
HR is responsible for providing a service that is fit for purpose and understands the needs of the business. This role forms part of the operational function that provides a comprehensive and professional recruitment service to the City Council directorates, Portsmouth International Port, Gosport Borough Council, Schools, and Academies to recruit the right person, in the right way and when needed.
Your New Role:
As the Recruitment Manager, you will lead and support the Recruitment team, leveraging your employment law knowledge, proficiency in applicant tracking systems, and comprehensive understanding of the recruitment process. Your responsibilities include providing assistance across various functions, advising managers on recruitment strategies, and implementing effective campaigns to attract and hire the right candidates. You will work closely with the wider HR team and communicate regularly with the HR Senior Management team and the HR Manager, providing ongoing reports on recruitment activities, diversity and inclusion metrics, and updates on large recruitment campaigns. and you will work with the team to develop a social media and marketing action plan.

What you'll need to succeed:
You have proven operational management experience, and can demonstrate that you can lead and motivate a recruitment team. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and an in-depth knowledge of employment law. You understand recruitment processes in large organisations and are proficient in using applicant tracking systems. You can think strategically, respond to questions with confidence, and work with adaptability and flexibility. You can demonstrate dedication to promoting and implementing equality, diversity, and inclusion in recruitment.
